:old:
Your wrong madman
Secreto would have beaten Benny the Dip
February 11, 2007 at 17:11 #28915On reading the title my vote was going to be for Santa’s Lilltle Helper.
However, on topic, Shaamit would have to come into it. However, the trouble with some of those in the list is that they never got a chance to show how good/bad they were (perhaps because they were bad!).
February 11, 2007 at 19:50 #28916The Sir Percy knocking is back. Wonder how many derby winners cut through the field like that to win, after a difficult journey? Not Dancing Brare for one
Sir Percy could, at worst, be descirbed as a very good horse that happened to win the Derby
February 11, 2007 at 20:04 #28917I can’t understand why Benny The Drip isn’t on the list either
February 11, 2007 at 20:07 #28918Regardless of what Sir Percy has done so far after the Derby, his performances before the Derby showed that he is a better horse than most of the others on that list.
High-Rise is a bit unfair – his was a bad Derby, but he subsequently ran up against some very good older (and contempary) horses.
All those on the list probably had excuses, but I can’t help thinking that Shaamit really was the worst of recent years – his quality has been reflected in his offspring.
February 11, 2007 at 20:15 #28919Dont worry all Sir Percy will be back this year. And his trainer is giving him a great opener to the season for this notoriously fragile horse…an early season campaign in Dubai on firm ground! Just what the vet ordered for him!
February 11, 2007 at 20:42 #28920Marcus will know exactly where he stands with Sir Percy, Aidan.
There are all sorts of horses – some of whom suited by cut – running well at Nad Al Sheba, this carnival. The ground is hardly Bath in midsummer. If the trainer believes that he won’t be suited, then the Derby winner won’t run.
And you’re right. Sir Percy will be back! Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.;)
February 11, 2007 at 21:02 #28921Where’s Motivator!
February 11, 2007 at 21:03 #28922About 4 lengths ahead of that lot
