Quality entries…..

Rare that I’m looking forward to a G1 2 Mile Chase, but this could, and should, be decent.
I’m hopeful that Chacun Pour Sois can bounce back here, with a view to The Champion Chase, but having bigged up A Plus Tard since last March, his win here at Christmas was hardly a surprise.
Throw in Cilaos Emery as well, who we haven’t seen the best of either, and it should be a belter.
Maybe not a big betting race, but at 33’s, Ordinary World might just be the one to pick up the scraps, and though I haven’t bet him yet, I think that’s a fair EW Price. He’s obviously not in the same class as the first three in the market, but he has his moments.
Placed last year, and but for a mistake at the last two years ago, would have given Min something to think about.
Talking myself into betting him.

January 19, 2020 at 20:07 #1480268Hard one, expect CPS to bounce back here. I have questioned A Plus Tard over in the antepost thread, but he did win a 2m g1 which i didn’t think he’d be up to doing.
In saying that, i think Cilaos Emery could actually beat them both. There’s just something about him. He doesn’t come with the same reputation as CPS, but he keeps winning. Price is a little tight though.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!January 20, 2020 at 21:32 #1480342“I think we’ll run three or four horses in the race and there’s great prize-money. ”
Sounds like chacun, min and cilaos emery will all run
January 20, 2020 at 22:00 #1480345Good heads up there FF, enough to make me hold off on for now.
January 28, 2020 at 17:35 #1481140The big guns all stand their ground, though Mullins did pull a couple.
Betfair and Paddy Power the only firms still going three places, for those who were considering something EW.
I’ve finally went with Ordinary World to nick third, and I’m hoping for a win from Chacun Pour Soi, and A Plus Tard to run a nice enough race, but enough to see him head for The Ryanair.
Ordinary World 33’s EW 3 Places
January 28, 2020 at 22:15 #1481157I can’t get over that price for Min.
He’s won it twice before, and though Chacon Pour Soi is clearly a talented and progressive horse, Min has been there and done it. Jaysus, 6/1 is huge to me, the more I look at it, and I will go with that.
January 29, 2020 at 14:30 #1481202Agree. 6/1 is bonkers for Min. When I saw that I assumed he wasn’t running. Word is he is running; this will be a great race
January 29, 2020 at 15:09 #1481208If he is that after final decs I will definitely have a bet
But I dont trust Mullins to actually run him, the price certainly seems too big
January 30, 2020 at 13:22 #1481283Cant believe both paul and danny deserted min! I want CPS to win for my own reasons and cilaos looks to be anything, but mins not slouch, thought one of them would have went with the proven rather than the potential
January 30, 2020 at 14:06 #1481286Yes very strange ham
He didnt look himself in the john durkan putting in an unusually bad jumping performance but youd expect him to come on for that
Cant say I’d be dissapointed robbie power is on though if I was a min backer
January 30, 2020 at 16:34 #1481311Robbie Power has taken the ride on Ricci horses when Ruby or Paul deserted them in the past. I’m on Min at 6/1 here and I’m delighted with that. Ornua will set a good strong pace for him. Course form, ran a career best last April. Below par on his seasonal reappearance but still had enough to win a Grade 1. Going to be a great race either way.
January 30, 2020 at 21:39 #1481351Definitely not a negative hes on him and for all the youngsters they absolutely must be ahead of min to have any shot in the CC, this is a proper proper race, i want chacun to win but min is a big danger, not interested in his run FTO, no bet for me will just be hovering over the lay button..
February 1, 2020 at 03:32 #1481502This, all things being equal, should be between A Plus Tard, Chacun Pour Soi and Min. I’m
not going to take any credit for that insightful piece of wisdom, nor am I backing any of
them. I’m having a little nibble on Castlegrace Paddy at 150/1. Now before
someone phones for the men in white coats let me explain my reasoning. He’s the only one
in the field without a run, he’s been off for 277 days, but his only win last season was
on his first run back after 227 days, in the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase where he trounced the
field by 16L. Next out he finished a running on hd behind Ordinary World and 5L behind
Simply Ned and Footpad in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown in December. He ran in this last year,
going off at 9/1, but fell at the 1st in the race won by Min, with St Calvados and
Ordinary World (12/1) filling the places. He then runs in the QMCC at the festival, finishing
6th at 25/1 with Min in 5th and St Calvados in 7th also 25/1. Ordinary world finished 15l
behind him at 33/1. His last race was in the Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival
in April, where he finished 3rd behind Un De Sceaux and Min, albeit some way behind, with
Ordinary World 20L behind him. He’s run in top races all last year so should he really be
150/1 for this when he was 9/1 last year. He’s also finished some way in front of Ordinary
World, whos generally 66/1, 100/1 in a place, the last twice they have run. I’m not daft
enough to think he’s the winner here, but if he runs well 1st time out again, it’s not beyond
the realms of possibility that he might just sneak into 3rd. If he were 50/1, which is where I
think he should be, I might not be as inclined but at 150/1 I can’t not have a nibble, can I
February 1, 2020 at 10:27 #1481525I can’t have Chacun pour Soi as a favourite here, especially with Min, A Plus Tard and Cilaos Emery as the opposition. I’ve gone for the outsider of the four with Cilaos Emery at 6/1 EW. I’m quitte impressed with his runs so far.
Cilaos Emery 6/1 EW
February 1, 2020 at 13:29 #1481570That’s more like it.
February 1, 2020 at 13:32 #1481571Mins jumping in his two races this season has been very scratchy, certainly cant see him winning the ryanair jumping like that
Chacun jumped well but I’d still be siding with defi in the champion chase I think
February 1, 2020 at 13:44 #1481577A pity A Plus Tard was a non runner. It turned the race into a private Mullins sweepstakes that was not made any better when one of his runners fell at the first!
Min just set the race up for the favourite who must face a stiffer task at Cheltenham. He makes no appeal at his price.
