Agree Darren. I’ve watched him a lot and he’s always very brave and committed when the chips are down at the business end of a race.

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly, all we heard was ‘8th February’!!!! It’s just that someone texted me today to say the race was 28th February!!! Sorry, but we can only go on what the racecourse tell us at the time!!! Basically, someone from Kempton Park came up to us as we were unsaddling Flipper and said ‘You should bring him back form the Graduation chase here on February 8th’. That is what we were told!!! Next thing, Christian was surrounded by journalists, and when asked what the plans were for the horse, he juss said ‘Well, we’ve just heard about this race on the 8th February’!!
I’ve still not seen the Racing UK coverage, but the cameras were still rolling, so maybe there is coverage of this chap telling us about this race.

Whatever the date, he isn’t qualified for any graduation chase.
One other option you might consider is to look at the program of 2M conditions chases in Ireland. Punchestown and Fairyhouse both have races in the next six weeks and both are at least right-handed, although nobody would call them flat. But there isn’t much strength in depth in the Irish 2M chase races at present. And of course theres a 2M Grade 1 at the big Punchestown meeting in April.
And at least there you’d get paid in Euros, rather than not very valuable pounds sterling!
December 29, 2008 at 06:01 #200075Can’t be many who has run in a lake race and then won a big race over here. Maybe we should build a lake at one of the tracks. Come to think of it, how deep is that pond at Sandown?
Darren – I think you can probably guess from our previous PMs / chatroom chats how thrilled I am to see German jumps racing get this sort of shot in the arm, and I’m delighted it was such a terrific day for you. Can’t imagine Flipper will be sent off at anything approaching a working man’s price if you send him back to Bad Harzburg next July, though…
