I must admit to having a few small quid on the Al Aasy derby gamble. His breeding does fit the profile and someone gave me a stat that said both Sea The Stars classic winners were once raced two year olds which I thought was interesting. To go from 66/1 to 20s in that short space of time is quite something. Therefore I was a little surprised to see him at 5/1 with WH for the derby trial. That’s massive potentially. If he is to win the derby he has to win here and there doesn’t look that much in the race so I’m on

    Al Aasy 5/1

Interesting race that Frenchy. Oisin Murphy spoke well of the well bred English King. There’s 14s about him and i don’t know if he’s certain to show up. He does show up well enough in his sectionals too. Just a maiden winner, Max Vega definitely sets a high enough standard, but the visual impression combined with his pedigree suggests EK could be pretty decent.

What does Sea The Stars have in common with his top five earning offspring ( aside from being related ).

ie. Stradivarius, Cloth of Stars, Crystal Ocean, Harzand & Sea of Class

Half a point. Cloth of stars never won over more than 10F though.

Got totally suckered into this one.

Al Aasy is going to run on Saturday at Newmarket. Doh! I didn’t see the Lingfield trial is on All Weather?! What’s that all about? Why All Weather? Anyway, done my money there. My fault.

Is he? Blimey, what’s he entered in every bloomin race!

He’s jocked up for Saturday if that makes a difference.

This is the trouble at the moment, I should’ve been more careful

The annoying thing is I haven’t backed English king and he’s shortened drastically :negative:

Frenchy i am not sure the ‘derby/oaks’ are on the all-weather unless i missed some news today.
On Bha website it says they are on turf but as said that may need updating

The going for the trials is shown as Firm (watering). Rest of the card is on Polytrack it seems. No sexy entries sadly (as far as I can tell)

This race looks a shade disappointing without the usual AOB runner or 2. English King would appeal as the obvious one to me. Certainly appears to have the most potential in here, also liked Pride Of America but have stamina doubts.
