rm<br>same thoughts on willoughby exactly  always read his wensday coloumns with interest   have actually emailed  rp many times as to why   this feature cannot be increased

he could do a review of the prior weeks racing   for one  a review or the upcoming weeks racing for another

your  voucher for the bc classic  could well be  a wise move

in my opinion and from what i have read   woodman is an inconsistent sire  some times getting good crops and sometimes getting poor crops   (could be as stevem says  it may be to do with the mares he ius sent to)  he is by mr prospector  whose offspring also have a reputation for not training on ( a feature he seems to have pased on)  however looking at some of the  offspring of  woodman   who have trained on   i dont think one could say of the better ones they lacked bottle  .  wouldyou  say boshra sham  lacked bottle and some of his better american horses were not bottlers either

regarding staying and stamina  i would agree with stevem and others he didnt stay   his class took him where he got. but stamina is relevant   poorer horse who can stay still have to keep up with him   and get close enough to take advantage. very few horses  can get away with this   but   look at nijinsky in the leger over a tript to far and ground conditions not to suit he beat a much better stayer in meadowville

regarding the distances and act one is not  a direct comparision  as the races were run differently  to some extent  the race on saturday  was run to suit   hawk wing and can account  for a few lenghts  (according to the fore mentioned  j willoughby)  although  i think your comment about the quality of horses behind may also have some validity as well.

be wary of t morris  together with mr mordin  he is another  who shares the thommo theory that sadlers wells offspring dont stay  despite numerous oaks coronation cup winners and now 2 derby winners  ( not mentioning he also has an ascot gold cup winner to his credit)
