Could easily win a Derby but will probably be wasted as pacemaker for a Coolmore-sired hope, like all of AOB’s Frankels.
May 6, 2026 at 20:43 #1766173Still a lot of water to go under a number of bridges but he has laid down the marker for the others to match or beat.
Tonge – Agreed he seems to sacrifice a lot of the Frankel progeny to the role of pacemakers (likely because they can go fast and maintain a strong gallop for longer), maybe its a fallout of Coolmore still smarting over the fact that Frankel came the year they didn’t have the first pick of Galileo’s foals from Abdullah’s broodmares.
May 7, 2026 at 15:46 #1766211Constitution River is a nice horse, looks to be French bound. I can see him running in the Eclipse

May 7, 2026 at 16:00 #1766212I think he will be at the curragh for the irish derby. Didnt handle chester so doubt will go to epsom. Might even go to royal ascot then the king george.
May 9, 2026 at 06:58 #1766337Ryan Moore said that Benvenuto Cellini got tired in the last furlong. So, despite the respectable time and splits fed back from Chester, we ain’t seen nothing yet if he comes on for the run as a fair few of AOB horses tend to do.
May 9, 2026 at 10:12 #1766354Pierre Bonnard got tired on the way to post last time out
He’ll get tired in the last furlong tomorrow and leave your horse in his wake come Derby dayGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

May 11, 2026 at 17:19 #1766537PB won twice over 10F as a two year old (including on very soft French ground) and looked as slow as molasses Sunday as well as hanging badly right (none of which are good traits for Epsom), he struggled to get by his not overly hard ridden pacemaker. To me he screams St Leger and then a Cup horse after that.
CR is the interesting one – his Chester run didn’t appear to me to be that of a horse that wouldn’t have appreciated another 2F. His dam (once raced over 10F) was herself a sister to Wonderful Tonight who won G1s and G2s over both 12F and 14F (also loved soft ground) so you wonder what he has shown at home that makes connection think he could be more of a French Derby horse (a race for which they already have Hawk Mountain primed for) and I note that CR also has an entry for the St James’s Palace along with the Eclipse.
O’Brien has stated that no decision has been made yet and that if he did go 12F they would have to ride him with more restraint than Chester……personally I would run him at Epsom with BC and run PB in the Irish Derby & St Leger.
May 11, 2026 at 21:27 #1766553Racing Post headline this evening of “William Haggas takes aim at Dante but fears he may have already seen the Derby winner at Chester”. I not got access to the full story so don’t know which one he thinks will win it.
May 11, 2026 at 22:34 #1766557William Haggas put Ertijaal up as a guineas winner, yes, the same Ertijaal that went on to be a 5f machine

Plenty of horses over the years have had the ‘Guineas talk’ by trainers and ended up as sprinters so nothing new there.
