Denman’s relentless galloping had Ollie Magern walking by the final fence and if Ruby wants to cruise on Kauto then he will need to do it fairly handily as I’m convinced Denman won’t be coming back to them going over the last.

I said all the way through the thread when answering people that Denman may well hack up. That was a clear possible outcome. That outcome happened.

Big deal, a racing media hype horse lived up to the hype. Rivals were a disappointment but the jumping was breathtaking.
I never once said Denman could not win. Silly silly forumites. Stated my opinion and put my money where my mouth is, not in the slightest bit embarrassed.

I will give you another lay now Free of charge.

9:20 Wolverhampton lay Basalt at 1.8 currently. I doubt very much this horse will win although yet again with any short priced horse it may well do.

2 odds on lays – 1 winner (Denman) and 1 loser (Basalt) = profit to level stakes.

I am educating you for free here. 8)

I told you I wouldnt blink and I didnt. Ice cool. 8)

In fact I am going to make sure this allegedly embarrasing for me thread stays at the top by, placing 10 lays on this thread. All of them odds on.

After the 10 odds on lays have ran and the results are in we will have a further discussion as to who the mug is. 8)

    1)2:45 Newbury – DENMAN at 1.21 = 1st
    2)9:20 Wolverhampton – BASALT at 1.76

If you made Denman a 5/2 today surely you must make him a 5/1 against KS? I’ll be delighted….you have my email.

As well as being able to run pretty fast, Denman always gave me the impression that he is as strong as an ox and could grind any horse down bar his stale companion, Kauto Star. The Hardy Lad of fencing.

Credit to Zoso though, as others have said. It’s all about decision-making, taking a position when things seem to come together in your mind. Unless we work to very small margins, we’ll often be wrong, but it’s about making the good decisions offset our losses and provide a fair profit. If only today had been one of those days for Grimes.

Flock to me oh wise ones. :D

Well done for sticking your necks on the line and saying you thought a horse trading at 1.21 would win. Dear oh dear what a bunch of funny people.

Either put up or shut up I say. 10 odds on lays in a row from me, will silence you all, when you see the profit this produces to level stakes.

I dont want any mug comments til after all 10 have ran, regardless of how long it takes to find 10 odds on lays.

Perhaps such goodies would be better off in the "Daily Lays and Plays" section.

Zoso, just out of interest why are you laying the horse at Wolverhampton?

I don’t do all weather and know very little about it to be honest but having a (admittedly very quick) browse through the form I see two of Basalts rivals have run to a similar mark to him over the trip and on the track so I can see why you might lay him, just wandering if thats the reason?

Yes thats a good idea, I just wanted to offer the people who get off on mocking someone who has layed a 1.21 shot and the 1.21 shot won a chance to keep this thread up at the top, as it clearly makes them feel better.

In 10 lays time on the ‘lays and plays’ section we can discuss things. 8)

OK, following the logic of this thread, Kicking King should be 1/5 for the Gold Cup and won’t see another rival at any stage of the race.

It’s not going to happen, but a round of applause for me for having the stones to make a complete a*se of myself in public.

    Complete and utter nonsense.

And you didn’t just state that you were going to chance Denman having an off day and lay him, Zoso, you stated in no uncertain terms that he simply wasn’t good enough to lay up with the likes of Celestial Gold and suggested that a 170+, 2/11 chance should be 5/2. Not quite in the same league for me…

And as for the free education, I think we’re all set thanks.

Watching the video of Basalt’s last race scared me witless, and the collateral form (at the weights) of the runner-up didn’t do a lot to reassure me, but Pret A Porter ran well in the circumstancesagainst Mahler in a good staying race.

Rose Row is another nag that interests me. She is bred to be very high class, but was relatively cheaply bought. She is owned by a Mrs Hambro – which speaks to me of banking and lots of money – and ran very well in her last race, as if the extra distance would suit.

She could, I think, be rated several pounds higher on the basis of it, and improve quite a bit, too. But I don’t feel at all confident his nibs will be beat.

What is it about this forum that we always seem to have one resident clown at any given time?

Zoso, I suggest you show some humility and just accept that you were wrong today. This little venture is the equivalent of losing a toss of a coin and quickly shouting "best two out of three!".

Wrong, wrong and wrong again. The clowns are the ones who mock someone who layed a horse at 1.21 (after saying throughout the thread it may well hack up).

Does anyone actually think my 10 odds on lays wont show a great profit to level stakes??

If you do then it is in fact you who are the clown.

After this egotistical boosting exercise we will see who the clown is. Plain and simple, If your going to talk the talk then you have to back it up. Simple as that. I will back it up. No way I will not be in profit from 10 odds on lays. Not possible.

I can’t understand this thread, Denman has only ever been beaten once in his racing career to date yet he is nominated to be beaten by weak opponents today.

This thread looks like a betfair forum publicity stunt
