Well, if nothing else, The Rabble’s mushroom policy towards punters has certainly stimulated debate. If they published horse’s weights the question of jockey error/lack of fitness would be resolved immediately. Instead we get thirteen pages of unresolved dispute.
Asked this question before, but never did receive an answer.
Where and when are the horses weighed, and how is that info provided to the public in a timely manner?
Day or two before? if so where? Day of race at the course? if so how will it be printed on the race card?February 21, 2010 at 11:17 #278217AP McCoy given mount on bold jumping front runner shock.
Now rides Nacarat (again) in the Racing Post Chase. When will they ever learn? AP is not suited by this type of horse.

Your sad little hypothetical was complete drivel and the only response it deserved was the one it got Reet. If you don’t like the heat son don’t stick your head in the boiling pot.
"but simply – would another jockey have got the horse over the next fence, and still been in contention?
For all AP’s experience and his thousands of winners, he didn’t, yet I can think of plenty who probably would have"Again the above is complete RUBBISH.
Now come back again with something as ill conceived as "unconnected drivel" or the above statement. Both were like firing blanks at a charging Rhino.

The greatest weakness of your assumption Reet is that you haven’t even considered, let alone stated the thought, "Would another jockey have stayed aboard when the initial mistake was made". There are so many hypotheticals that anyone can apply to any ride in any race. I prefer to deal with the facts as they happened. That’s why your response is emotional and rubbish. It’s just another typical Anyone Vs McCoy tall poppy syndrome laden attack.
February 21, 2010 at 11:56 #278226Geez, this ones still running!Of all McCoys many falls this one is his most embarrasing,he was made to look like an amateur riding at a Pony club by the big horse! In fact i would go as far to say the whole incident made him look incompetent!
February 21, 2010 at 15:40 #278275You see the trouble with McCoy put simply is that he never did completed his apprenticeship.I knew that would come back to haunt him.
February 21, 2010 at 20:26 #278329How can anyone say he was beaten at the time? Maybe he wasn’t 20 lengths clear but it’s not like AP had thrown the kitchen sink at him with no response, Denman gets better the longer the race goes on .

No it didn’t,stop being so dramatic.
Great horses make mistakes.
Great jockeys make mistakes.
When great horse makes mistake the chances are he’ll get rid of great jockey.
AP wasn’t at fault, just watch the race again.February 21, 2010 at 21:41 #278344Geez, this ones still running!Of all McCoys many falls this one is his most embarrasing,he was made to look like an amateur riding at a Pony club by the big horse! In fact i would go as far to say the whole incident made him look incompetent!

AP wasn’t at fault, just watch the race again.I have watched the race a dozen times,i always watch re-runs several times before i judge! A,P was caught out big time,i may sound dramatic because it was dramatic! Denman WAS a beaten horse at the time, tiredness was as much to blame for the 1st mistake as A,P was to blame for the fall! Simple as!
February 21, 2010 at 22:37 #278353Well you cant really say what Denman would of really done when Niche Market tried to pass, when he came up Denman was already in the process of a mistake but if Denman jumped the fence normal, I would say its most likely Denman would of fended him off and would come alive again, like Sam Thomas says, you dont need to do much when a horse comes to Denman , he will just ping his ears back and not let the horse pass, McCoy looked for too much from the fences.

I’ve read the many opinions posted over the last few weeks and kept out of the debate after the first day as, sadly, the outcome of the partnership was much as I’d feared.
If the above is a quote from Sam it just shows how well he knows Denman and underlines the fact that the partnership should never have been split up.May 1, 2010 at 14:21 #293310FIRST DUNGUIB, NOW SNA. IS THERE NO STONE TO STAND ON? BAD YEAR AHEAD FOR THE IRISH I FEAR.
May 1, 2010 at 23:46 #293453no one cant beat Mccoy in a finish, no1. everyone knows deep down hes the best!! if he was with a stable like nicholls/henderson, god help him!!

Worst thing that could ever happen to be honest Del. AP is better chosing what he rides than being tied. JP would never stop him from getting off one of his no hopers to ride something else so he’s got the perfect job.
May 3, 2010 at 17:18 #293976wouldnt be so sure, he rode loads of winners when stable jockey to pipe.
