Verdict?
Havent seen replay yet but….
February 13, 2010 at 14:44 #276110Denman deliberately dumped mccoy i think….
February 13, 2010 at 14:45 #276111Five out and I thought he was going to trounce them. Seemed to not get in a stride four from home and was shaken. McCoy could not settle a nervous horse in time for the ditch three from home – almost inevitable he would have made another mistake.
Presuming he is ok, one has to ask if Denman will become more hesitant in the future.

February 13, 2010 at 14:46 #276112AP presented Denman wrongly at several fences…as I said from the start in several posts, seriously wrong choice of jockey
Sam Thomas MUST be reinstated

Nicholls horse are not jumping well, spending too much time in media and not enough on gallops.
Jockey done nothing wrong.
February 13, 2010 at 14:47 #276114I’ve always said McCoy is your everyday, all effort push them along jockey. His record in big races over the years shows he is limmitted when he rides really good horses.
I know some people will abuse me and ridicule me but I would never have replaced Sam Thomas and certainly not with McCoy.
February 13, 2010 at 14:47 #276116Debate ends here more like it. He’s not the jockey for Denman.
February 13, 2010 at 14:48 #276117I agree bring back Sam Thomas he knows the horse well. He can get a great tune out of Denman there a match made for eachother.
February 13, 2010 at 14:49 #276118I quote my original post…..

A TRULY SHOCKING DECISION I CAN’T THINK OF A LESS SUITABLE JOCKEY FOR "THE TANK"February 13, 2010 at 14:49 #276120Horse looked big in the paddock, and came right off the bridle after the cross fence. If you are going to blame anyone for the defeat, blame the trainer – he appears to have left him woefully undercooked for this.
February 13, 2010 at 14:50 #276122ap frigged up bigtime, a horse has to be asked to jump or they get casual, bring back sam thomas asap
February 13, 2010 at 14:51 #276123I agree with Ian

I won’t disagree with that. I’ve said for years that McCoy is over-rated. McCoy on Denman?? WTF thought that one up?

McCoy the trusty old Volkswagen. Ruby the Ferrari.
February 13, 2010 at 14:52 #276127In my opinion McCoy panciked and misjudged the horse’s stride, as he is prone to do these days.
Sam Thomas is no McCoy but he gets on really well with Denman. If Harry Findlay and Paul Barber want to win this year’s Gold Cup then they need to make a huge decision and swallow their pride – and REINSTATE Sam Thomas as Denman’s jockey !

Thank you, the man on same wave length as me.
Can’t co/sign this post enough – I may even put it in my signature.
February 13, 2010 at 14:53 #276129After the first mistake I think McCoy was on the back foot and mis-judged things badly. Jockeys job to present the horse at the fence and he failed miserably.
There you go, I think Cheltenham Specialist told us all what would happen but I’m not sure, can you confirm that CS?
