Gods window for me
Gods windows 3rd in the futurity looks the best piece of form on offer and that was only his second start
He’s only run on soft ground so far and looking at his action I suspect he’s going to be better on better ground. Doesn’t have a very rounded knee action at all.
May even have a little gods window today with ancient wisdom in the Derby related double
May 9, 2024 at 11:20 #1693587“by far the best form” is some statement.
also regarding the “flattering wind assisted success” mr Taylor replies:
It’s possible that fluctuations in wind speed contributed to the difference, but the tailwind wasn’t as significant as it had been the previous day and for now it’s probably worth taking Jayarebe’s performance at close to face value.
Never a great thing to see Hugh go for one in a race- but he doesn’t win them all. I’d be on God’s Window at the prices. On breeding the ground shouldn’t be a concern.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!May 9, 2024 at 11:24 #1693588Ever the optimistic me ham…
I did take 5/2 (price boost) Jayarebe from Paddy Power this morning when he started to shorten up so happy with that. All he has to do now is give his trainer a much needed win and I’m more than happy to see Sean Levey on board today. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 9, 2024 at 11:42 #1693591I was trying to be kind on Mr Meehan, AP.
I suppose you could say he was “in form” for a period of about 5 days when Jayarebe ran at Newmarket. When Rashabar also ran – He’s favourite in the second race today. So hopefully we don’t have too much egg on our faces tonight. They did only run around 3 weeks ago, so there is a chance they’ll be able to show their form… But Intertwined ran well in that period too and has run poorly (last of 12) since.I had some 6.6 matched on the machine Capulet but is (unfortunately) just a saver for me.
Do think Gods Window’s form is a match for Capulets, but the Group 1 place was on much softer.
The ridiculous price of Jayarebe has imo made several – if not all the others – value.
How the XXXX I didn’t see the ground firming up making a difference before betting though!
…What with foolishly backing GW and saving on BL and the Lay I put on Jayarebe yesterday makes my “cash out” button “minus £££” look worse than I have ever noticed it before, even with the 6.6!Value Is EverythingMay 9, 2024 at 13:44 #1693599First race was only 1.13 slower than Racing Post Standard. Firming up.
Value Is EverythingMay 9, 2024 at 15:17 #1693607Spot on AP.
Value Is EverythingMay 9, 2024 at 15:22 #1693608Vert happy with Capulet and brilliant ride to
May 9, 2024 at 15:24 #1693609Well it wasnt spot on ginge lol he didnt have by far and away the best 2yo form, correct regarding jrb though, good shout AP well done,as expected on jrb though, i can thank hugh taylor for getting to lay him at such a ahort price (i was laying last night when he was still 11/4 which is annoying) but just kept going
GW, completely blew the entire race, i still firmly believe hes the best of these, slowly away, lost the rail, uncomfortable wide, just one theyd like to run again
The hughes horse ran a fair bit above what i thought, was considering a place lay glad i got out of that
Thankfully had the saver on capulet as i said earlier but bittersweet, lucky winner
Harsh rule 4 on the rag aswell, so capulet never returned the entire stake
May 9, 2024 at 15:40 #1693614Bracken’s Laugh much better than Brentford Hope think he has a big race in him for sure
Blackbeard to conquer the World
May 9, 2024 at 16:06 #1693621It’s pleasing to see that Justify could have a couple of useful middle distance horses this year, Capulet and City of Troy
May 9, 2024 at 16:59 #1693627Slower time than the 0-90 handicap which is the first time that has happened since they ran them both on the same day for the first time back in 2018.
May 9, 2024 at 17:21 #1693629It looked a modest renewal pre race and looks a modest renewal post race
Don’t think we saw a derby winner there
Be surprised if capulet was even good enough to place
May 9, 2024 at 17:44 #1693631Well done Darren and all Capulet backers 7/2 was a nice price in a
four horse race.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 9, 2024 at 20:16 #1693649Wouldn’t rule out capulet running into a place. Not exactly a vintage Derby at the moment though I suspect he will be 4th or somewhere there. Maybe Diego on decent ground could be the one. Always thought he is ideal Derby horse. Cue an outsider bolting up.
May 10, 2024 at 01:31 #1693671Will Capulet run in The Derby?
I’d have thought the French Derby might be a better option, unless Coolmore need a pacemaker.Value Is EverythingMay 10, 2024 at 15:36 #1693726Watched the race again and he won very snuggly with Ryan waving the whip and he kept going well after the line. Depends on how the rest of aidans do in the trials I suppose as to where he goes next.
