I doubt she’ll be that big tomorrow. Golden Sunbird failed again when odds on at Thurles after the Limerick race when only beaten a head by Killultagh Queen. Killultagh Queen was also beaten 15L by For Bill in bumper at Navan in November. I can’t see there being too much market confidence in Willie’s mare to turn that form around tomorrow.
February 3, 2010 at 21:37 #273858Chelts i was not impressed with her debut over timber. Was pretty lucky to win.
Paul Townend replaces O Conner and he IMO is prob the best rider in Ireland by some way and prob the greatest every Irish jockey for his age of 19. His rides have been sensational tbh.
Mullins like his mare but For Bill looks the business and has to be followed until she is beaten. What price on betfair tonight does anyone know?
February 4, 2010 at 10:39 #273883Wallace..and I though she won rather cheekily last time out?
Either way I can’t see he getting beat today, 100 points to win for me.
February 4, 2010 at 10:43 #273884Wallace…..agreed re Paul Townend, very stylish jockey indeed
BTW For Bill has already put 15 lengths between herself and Mullins mare, two amateur rides that day so (any (improvement? caused by) the booking of Ruby is surely offset by the booking of young Paul.
February 4, 2010 at 11:53 #273898I fully expect For Bill to win today but don’t expect there to be too much improvement because of the change of jockey. Mikey O’Connor is as good an amateur as there is around.
February 4, 2010 at 12:00 #273900Been back through last years Champion Bumper – the only horse up with the pace to be there at the finish was the mare Morning Supreme, she’s been exceptionally impressive in her two starts this season (albeit in poorer company) and with major doubts about Quevega’s participation I’ve had a top up on Betfair on Morning Supreme. Just waiting for the Supreme Novices market to re-open just in case
February 4, 2010 at 12:10 #273903For Bill should win today…….but i not sure he was seen at his best going right handed. His most impressive wins were at right handed tracks. Its a tight course Clonmel.
Regards Morning Supreme she looks the real deal and should put Dunguib under some pressure.
February 4, 2010 at 14:23 #273924Easy as you like and hopefully we were all rewarded with a generous SP.
Townend let her do her own thing and slucied in really. Only mistake was at the last
February 4, 2010 at 14:25 #273925Difficulty judging what she beat Wallace but she did it very very easily in the end, step up in trip will surely help though and they’d have to consider Cheltenham after that.
February 4, 2010 at 14:27 #273927Ah she didn’t beat much.
You see the conditions there today….thats as impressive as any horse could be. Its looks like P2P course tbh
February 4, 2010 at 14:29 #273928Yeah it did but a lot of Irish courses end up looking like that. Be interesting to see how undulating the courses she won her points at are.
February 4, 2010 at 14:31 #273929Yeah the camera’s arent great on ATR but yeah looks really tough conditions. Clonmel is up and down….very undulating. Our minor NH courses look pretty desperate when its heavy.
February 4, 2010 at 14:36 #273930As i suspected they have no interest in going to Chelts.
"The last day she ran she had just gone too light," said winning trainer Michael Winters.
"We gave her a pop over hurdles at Dromahane recently and she was outstanding. Before she was jumping them but measuring them.
"She’ll go for a novice hurdle at Limerick or Fairyhouse if she’s right. The break she got was the key to her."
February 4, 2010 at 14:42 #273933Cheers to CS, Wallace and Imperial for the advice there! Not a bad price either
February 4, 2010 at 17:14 #273957Just got home I’m hoping to catch the FOR BILL replay on at the Races, yes good price but she was 13/8 with Victor Chandler this morning. I used to have an a/c there but a few years ago after a particularly good win on She’s Our Mare they told me just "what I could do with my bets" so no chance of a bet there, I went for the SP in the end, 5/4 everything considered seems more than generous
February 6, 2010 at 15:07 #274413Good boost for Voler’s form with Zarinava winning there at Doncaster.
February 6, 2010 at 15:18 #274414Yep and good to see Pepite De Soleil run well too – hard to see any of those winning at Cheltenham though. Would think the two Mullins mares and Voler are at least 10lbs better than them.
