Steeplehasing he’s riding superior racehorses , I’ve watched him to many times not to see he’s average …. He’s said as much himself yesterday on live tv yesterday
April 14, 2024 at 17:53 #1690525He’s being humble, which is his nature. I think many are writing him off purely on his style, which has nothing to do with skill. Whatever your eyes tell you, the facts could not be clearer. To continue dipsuting them is like arguing black is white.
April 14, 2024 at 18:04 #1690527I make money betting against him , if you want to talk stats he has a 11% win ratio so far this season , 6% last season , what stats are you looking at ? , bare in mind he’s riding a number of more expensive horses in these races …. He’s not humble , just honest
April 14, 2024 at 18:05 #1690528Also another stat …
April 14, 2024 at 19:08 #1690538I don’t know how to paste screenshots here. If you can instruct me I’ll post some charts. Ta.
April 14, 2024 at 19:19 #1690539Just tell us , surely the stats i stated prove a point , if u rate him fair enough but I’ve seen the evidence to show he’s poor
April 14, 2024 at 19:39 #1690543Charts tell a better story and remove any opinion-based angle. I’m sure someone will instruct me how to post a screenshot.

Simply copy a link to the image and paste it here with img in square brackets before it and /img in square brackets after it.
April 14, 2024 at 19:50 #1690546To be fair to David Maxwell, his win stats are just below Jack Tudor and above Brendan Powell, so maybe these two jockeys shouldn’t have ridden in the race either! He also doesn’t just compete in Hunter Chases but in races against professionals (don’t know the numbers of each though).
April 14, 2024 at 20:15 #1690549How many short prices horses is he riding compared to those two … many more for sure
April 14, 2024 at 20:26 #1690553He was interviewed by Nick Luck today:
April 14, 2024 at 20:40 #1690555Looks like three odds on chances this season, two of which were in races against professionals. Okay, we know we’re we are at with David Maxwell but I still think he had a good ride yesterday.
April 15, 2024 at 04:02 #1690593He rides a lot of short prices horses and has a 11% win rate ….
April 15, 2024 at 12:45 #1690610He has a 19% win rate over the last 5 years
It was close to 30% before this season, but he’s 4 from 37 so it’s come tumbling down.
The maxwell is the maxwell if you back one of his horses and it finishes 2nd because he’s very weak in a finish it’s your fault not his
Don’t think iv backed him once in my life. But I wouldn’t blame him if I did and it lost.
April 15, 2024 at 13:48 #1690622It’s not easy to feel sympathy for a very rich property developer, but I have a suspicion Maxwell wouldn’t have been given any credit by quite a few people even if he’d won on Saturday.
He would have been said to have bought his victory, or that the decent horse he was on had got him round.
Nobody capable of finishing in sixth place in a fiercely competitive race like Saturday’s National could be a bad jockey. I’m not saying Maxwell is a great jockey either, but believe he was sufficiently competent and experienced to take part.
He met the current rider experience requirements to compete in the race, and then performed well in it.
April 15, 2024 at 13:59 #1690625“property developer”
Charlie Uniform November Tango by definition.
