Awesome performance from the hayemaker tonight.
Time to put one or both klitschko clowns in their place now!!!
That is all
April 4, 2010 at 21:19 #287551Thought it was a brilliant performance from Haye.
His trainer wasn’t that happy with his defence on the night but offensively he was outstanding. His speed, power and accuracy was a joy to watch and marks him out as the most exciting heavyweight since Tyson burst onto the scene IMO.
He’s absolutely rocketed to super stardom in no time really. I think he was a bit taken aback when he came out and heard the reception he got and the backing from the British boxing fans.
It’s thoroughly deserved though, he’s fantastic in front of the camera’s and has all the boxing ability in the world. His eagerness to take on and beat the best wherever he needs to go to do that also has to be applauded in a time when making the best fights aren’t always that straight-forward…
Bring on the Klitchko’s I say, I think Haye will destroy them both…Vlad first and then his brother later down the line.
April 5, 2010 at 15:53 #287718Yes, he looked impressive enough – but against a washed up, slow bruiser (Ruiz), who still managed to mark the face of Haye. Ruiz is not in the same class as the Klitchko brothers.
If David Haye does fight one of the brothers, I should think it more likely to be Wladimir, the younger brother, who is said to have improved immensely, and whom brother Vitaly now rates as being the better boxer.
I am not so sure that Haye would find it quite so easy against either. He would find it much tougher to break their guard and would have to absorb some solid, repetitive jabs and blows; the like of which he has yet to encounter.
At this stage, I would rate Haye an odds against chance to defeat either Klitchko.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
April 6, 2010 at 10:24 #287858I’m really finding Haye very hard to warm to, I wish he’d learn a bit of humility to go with his talent. I agree he’s so far only beaten washed up and poor heavyweights, but the division is very thin and this was a manditory defence. I’m not so sure about the Klitchko brothers and whether he’d beat either of them, but its the obvious fights (or at least one of them). Unfortunately though, they don’t always happen in boxing so we’ll just have to wait and see.
April 12, 2010 at 10:25 #289818I was impressed with his performance against a good hard well experienced fighter. But isn`t this the same man who having been beaten by a real journeyman, dissappeared to Lanzarote or somwhere for months.
Also during the fight he threw some punches with both feet off the floor .A good trainer would collapse with embarrassment.
I`d say he has a lot to learn before he fights the Klitchkos .
Disgusted by the MEN arena crowd chanting "Whoaryu" to the challenger when he entered the ring. I`d like to have seen a couple of these idiots get in the ring with him so he could have shown them who he is.A man who has won two World titles warrants a lot of respect.April 12, 2010 at 14:24 #289869Boxing is not about humility – remember a chap called Cassius Clay who wasn’t too shy and is remembered fondly enough!
The trick is backing it up in the ring – Haye can fight alright and he’d have a punchers chance against little brother, but Vitali would spark him out in my opinion.
