Thanks BigG. Crocker always looked like he had it under control, although he did give me a bit of hope on the last two holes! He seems like a nice fellow and the win obviously meant a lot, so fair play to him.

Pepperell hit a weak birdie putt on the 11th which I expect he would like to have again – but Crocker missed a straightforward birdie putt on the 15th, so it balanced out.

Crocker’s chip in for eagle on the 18th on Saturday looked like a decisive moment at the time and so it proved.

At least Pepperell played much better than my other tip, Victor Dubuisson. He was on the same score as Pepperell after 3 rounds and then scored a 73. A poor effort but I do think he is getting close to winning again if he can cut out the silly errors. Both him and Pepperell had high world rankings not too long ago.

Bets for the Tennis at Canada

ARYNA SABALENKA 20/1 WTA Rogers cup

Big hitting Belarusian got semi final last year. Can get to final may get Gauff in 3rd round May get Halep or Kontaveit then in semi final can beat Badosa and win here

    LEYLAH FERNANDEZ 33/1

She return from injury but this a home game for her. A runner up in US Open last year
May get Switiek in 3rd round but Iga lost on clay so may not be in peak form. While Jabeur be tough can’t under estimated her here.

    CARLOS ALCARAZ 5/1

Loss 2 finals on clay but is Good enough to bounce back here. Won Miami and play well in US open.Paul and Cilic be early seeds for him
Then Fritz who a injury doubt. Rublev and Tsistipas but neither at there best yet.

    JENSON BROOKSBY 50/1

Young American who can cause a suprise or to here has Bulbik then maybe Bautista Agut
And can beat Rudd to Medvedev in semi final but Russian may be go out early to Kyrgios
