    Hero World Challenge

Bryson Dechambeau 20/1 (16/1 1st round leader market)

He’s had a bit of a break since his T4 in the Shriners where he finished
with a superb 63. He’s only played here once, and he certainly hit the
number of birdies (22) and an eagle you need to win here, but he also
hit enough bogies to ruin his chances. He finished T12 and if he can
learn from the mistakes he made last time then he has a great chance here.

Henrik Stenson 33/1 (20/1 1st round leader market)

It would be easy to plump for Rahm, he’s in top form, but at single figures
he’s too short for me. Stenson on the other hand is over priced at 33/1 with
Skybet. His recent form is solid if not scintillating with 3 top 20s in his
last five, but it’s his form here which attracts me too him. Runner up in
2016 and 4th last year, this course plays to his strengths with 5 par 5s.
I think he has every chance.

It’s not a big field here, I’ll stick to the 2, although I was very tempted
to take some of the 66s on Chez Reavie. The fact that this course plays into
the hands of the long hitters, with 5 par 5s, puts me off as that’s not his
game. I’ll be keeping an eye on him though.

    Australian Open

Cameron Smith 12/1 (20/1 1st round leader market)

I’d shoot myself (I said Shoot) if my old pal Cameron went on to win this
and I hadn’t backed him. I keep waiting for him to make the big breakthrough
on the PGA Tour, and although he’s had some good results he hasn’t managed
to get himself across the line. As Darren has already said, he has no problem
with that in his own backyard, and he’s very capable of taking this.

Andrew Dodt 45/1 (45/1 1st round leader market)

I’m giving another home grown Ozzie with Dodt. He didn’t play in this when
last held here, and was a reasonable T23 in event last year. He goes into this
in pretty good shape, he broke the course record with a blistering 61 in the
NSW at Twin Creeks last time out and finished 5th. Id love him to repeat something
like that in the 1st round here.

Josh Younger 175/1 (90/1 1st round leader market)

In the same tournament that Dodt hit his course record, the title was picked up by
Younger. He should have won it outright, but a double bogey on the last left him
tied. He made up for that in the play-off with a birdie at the 2nd play-off hole.
If nothing else he’s a man in form and at these odds I thought he was worth chancing
    a few quid.

That’s me for this week. Good luck with your picks Darren and hope you have some success
Raymo if you’re throwing your hat into the ring this week mate :good:

I forgot to keep a check on the Hero World Challenge until a few minutes ago, and guess
what?…….. Chez Reavie is 4 under after 15, and 2 off the lead. I’ll kick myself if
he is leading after the 1st round, or joint. Just in case he does go on and win, I can’t
not have a bet so I’ve stuck 20 quid on the outright at 25/1 with sky.
    What a plonker

Looks like we want Stenson and Woodland o be fighting ;-) out the finish!!

Reed has been a naughty boy and has been punished accordingly.
I pretty much have no chance in Mauritius and little chance in Oz after the thrill of the first round LOL

    Raymo and BigG

in oz open when look at leader it is Matt Jones won here in 2015 beat a then peak Jordan Speith also been 2nd here at course as well was decent price here

    No luck in hero

While in Maurituis A Rozer at 100/1 has clubhouse lead so should get a place but could be better

And in Snooker got Maguire at 100/1 so who knows on Monday could have a couple of 100/1 winners

Great to see we are all in with a shout this weekend. Final round of hero tonight, I could
have don without Stenson bogeying (is that a word?) the last hole last night, but he’s bang
in there along with your man Woodland who is in thye driving seat Raymo.

Wow Darren, 2 shots at 100/1 chances. I hope at least one of them comes in for you mate :good:

Cheers Raymo, I’m well pleased with that, it’s a nice way to finish off the year.
Well done with your 2 places, it keeps you ahead of the bookies :good:

Darren, I was following the Mauritius Open this morning and I was hoping your guy
Rozner would do the business. It looked like he would for a bit, and then when it
went to a 3 way play-off, it was down to 2 after the 1st hole. He birdied the 18th
the next twice but I was gutted for you when Hojgaard eagled the 2nd play-off hole.
That was such bad luck mate, I was sick so I can guess you were even worse. It’s still
a great e/w shout, but so near to being a fantastic 100/1 winner.

I hope your snooker bet makes up for it tomorrow mate :good:
