Memo to self……keep a bloody check on the + and – tally as you go along next year
It’s just taken me the best part of 2 days to methodically go through each bet to get a
true plus and minus for each event. Here’s a very brief summary, all of which were declared
prior to the event.I was into my 4th event this year, the Desert Classic on 17 Jan, before I had any joy.
I was down £360 going into the event, but Hadwin 1st round leader at 14s netted me £300
and 20 quid on Adam Long in-play (o/r winner) at 25/1 netted another £500. Running tally
at the point was + £405. In the next week Dechambeau won the Dubai Desert Clasic at 14/1
(£300) and in the Farmers that week Howell was joint 1st round leader (£210). January was
a cracking month and Thomas Pieters was the 1st round outright leader at 40/1 (£520). I
was never in minus mode at any time this year after that. Plenty of winners, bigger ones
including Reavie winning the Travelers Championship at 60/1 (£740), Christiaan Bezuidenhout
winning the Andalucia Masters 80/1 (£1,020) + place in 1st round at 80s (£210), Gavin Green
1st round leader in the Czech Masters at 40/1 (£520)+ Thomas Pieters outright winner at 18s
(£380). Matt Wallace 1st round leader in the BMW PGA at 45/1 (£560). Plenty of other e/w’s
and lower wins below £500, and the year nicely rounder off with Stenson winning the Hero
World Challenge at 33s (£660).Final tally was a pleasing +£4,378. I’d settle for that every year
December 13, 2019 at 16:48 #1477207BigG you not bet on golf next week there is Thailand open and Emirates PGA Australian as well.
Well done this year mate
And see Indoneisian masters your pal last week Younger is 54hole leader in event my best hope is Sandhu
December 13, 2019 at 19:23 #1477214I’ll give them a look for next week and probably have a go Darren. I wasn’t going to have
a go in the Indonesian Masters this week, and then decided I’d give it a look late on Wednesday
might, but it had started. I hadn’t looked at any of the field, so I can’t say I would have
picked Younger, but in a field of golfers, most of whom I didn’t really know and considering
I put him up last week I think there was a fair chance.I’m not moaning mate, I’ve had a great year and I have to thank you for having this amazing thread
up and running. I’ve always dabbled a bit with the golf, but once I got into the rhythm of putting
up my choices regularly with yourself and Raymo over the past few years, I’ve never looked back. As
I said in the TRF Awards Nomination Thread, “If there is a more profitable thread in the forum, I’ve
yet to find it”. So cheers to yourself and Raymo for making this so much fun, and profitable fun at
thatAlso got to throw in good wishes to Grimes for running with us for a while, I hope you are doing well
mateDecember 15, 2019 at 00:08 #1477365Thank you, BigG. It’s really nice of you. You’ve all been very welcoming. Despite the fact that I am no longer allowed to bet (I wish I could types an upwardpointing arrow… I don’t think He’s got anything personally against betting – we do it all the time, just crossing the road ! Especially when you’re old and doddery. Stepping off a 3 inch or 4 inch curb will sometimes see me stagger about for a bit ! No. It’s the time I tended to devote to studying it – and I can’t deny I did ! Anyway, I get a buzz out of seeing your bets and hearng the patter. Especialy about hding behind the settee, and the possibility of need for an ambulance !
The best of luck, as ever, I hope lads, and to your pretty large, I suspect, group of followers.
December 17, 2019 at 11:47 #1477478Final Golf bets for year start in Australia Emirates Australian PGA
ADAM SCOTT 6/1
Has strong record here winner by 4 in 2013 then year later 2nd to rory and was 3rd behind Varner 3years ago to.
Can get over loss of Presidents cup with a win hereJASON SCRIVNER 12/1
Best ever showing here last year when 5th finish strong on European tour 3rd in Needbank 10th in DP Tour championship way he playing only a matter of time wins a big event in homeland this might be the week.
MAVERICK ANTCLIFF 80/1
Been flying on tour in China while a big step up here i feel he can get even better this layout will suit him as well and a player keep a eye on this week.
December 17, 2019 at 11:58 #1477479Thailand masters
GAVIN GREEN 18/1
Got back in form with 2nd last week and now back in Asia where he a multi time winner can get back in the hunt for final event of the year.Course change a bit but no issue for him.

MIGUEL TABUENA 50/1

MICAH LAUREN SHIN 150/1
American who spends all his time in Asia last week snapped out of 4 MC in a row with a 10th place and no doubt in my mind can build on that this week and do even better at 3figure price one to very intrested in he is
BigG you having bets this week if yes start early tomorrow
Nice to see you Grimes happy christmas to you hope see you soon to.
December 17, 2019 at 15:10 #1477486Australian PGA
Cameron Champ 16/1 (25/1 1st round leader market)
I’m hoping that Champ can take his A game down under. He’s not really fired since
his win in the safeway Open back in September, but I read that he feels his game is
on the way back and he’s had a session with his coach recently in which he’s sorted
out some problems. I think he’s a big price for this.Andrew dodt 50/1 (50/1 1st round leader market)
I had a go with him last time out in the Ozzie Open, he performed well enough to make
the cut without ever being in real contention finishing T33. He looked to be in very
decent form the time before in the NSW at Twin Creeks, where he broke the course record
with a 61. If he can bring that kind of form here he would have a decent chance.Brett Rumford 125/1 (80/1 1st round leader market)
He’s a bit of an old war horse, but he has a decent game and he finished the same
as Dodt in the Ozzie Open, despite having a desperate last round 77. Even an even
par round would have had him finishing T10. I think Skybet are sticking their necks
right out here with that price, they are 25 points bigger than anyone else. I’d
be happy if he can get into a place and he has half a chance I reckon. There’s no doubt that Scott and Smith could have this to share between them, they
are the class in this but I’m not to keen on the 6/1. I will keep a check to see if they
slip up a bit at the start, if they were to go into double figures I’d probably have
another go.Best of luck Darren, I know Raymo has gone AWOL so hopefully one of us can end this
year on a high note. I’ll have a look at the Thailand Masters to see if I’m going to
have one last stab this year, but I’ll wish you a happy Christmas now in case that’s
me doneDecember 18, 2019 at 02:49 #1477499Thailand Masters
I’ve decided I’ll have a go with a couple in this Darren
Josh Younger60/1 (50/1 1st round leader market)
I’ve got to have a go with him after plucking him out for the Australian Open and
him nearly doing the business in the Indonesian Masters where he finished T3. He would
have been a cracking e/w in that so I’m hoping he follows up here this week. He is well
capable of shooting low so 1st round market is very worth considering.Panuphol Pittayarat 90/1 (75/1 1st round leader market)
He was winner here last year and I’m going on the assumption that this course suits his
game. He’s clearly not been doing so well of late, as his odds indicate, but as defending
champ he might just put in a better show. That’s me done this week, and this year. As I said before Darren, it’s been a cracker and
I’m delighted we’ve all come through it smelling of roses and given the bookies a bloody
nose. Looking forward to setting about them all over again next year. All the best guysDecember 18, 2019 at 22:36 #1477524And a very Happy Christmas to you, BigG and Raymo, mukka – as well as a successful New Year, natch. I know we all wish each other well.
December 21, 2019 at 11:05 #1477715Adam Scott has a 1shot lead going into final round of golf for year in Australia I hope he complete the job if he does I had 10 golf winner this year which for me be par for year in 2012 I had 23 golf winners so hope he does it
I do my round up of Golf and Tennis bets next week in thread to.
December 21, 2019 at 11:20 #1477718Also check Thailand open M Tabuena only 3off lead going into final round tomorrow so a chance there as well.
December 22, 2019 at 01:12 #1477849You have a great chance down under with Scott Darren, he’s definitely in the driving seat.
My three are still there, but unless Scott folds, and I don’t think he will, I’ve no realistic
hope of a win. With Dodd at 5 under (five back) and Champ and Rumford one shot further behind,
the best I can hope for is some place money. I’d settle for that right now.I think you’ll find your man Tabuena is sitting alongside my man Pittayarat at 12 under and
unfortunately that is 5 off the lead in Thailand. Still, you never know, a low scoring round
is possible but they will need to come flying out of the blocks and get some early birdies
to have any chance. At least it gives us something to shout about. Best of luck mateDecember 22, 2019 at 13:13 #1477859A nice way to top the year off Darren with your man Scott winning down under
No joy for me this week, Dodt managed to grasp defeat from the hands of victory
by finishing bogey bogey when he was 11 under with 2 to play. He wouldn’t have caught
Scott, but he would have finished T2, instead of 1 shot out of the money. I’ve had a
great year so no complaints from me.Very best wishes for a Happy Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year to you Darren,
Raymo and Grimes. And if MOM, Sassoon or Nathan, who have all dropped in from time to time
are looking in, then all the best to you guys tooDecember 23, 2019 at 17:31 #147791610 Golf winners I had this year were
