SHAWN STEFANI 50/1
This guy is type to pop up here has good form on tough courses and this ideal test for him this week a player got class in a field like this
CAMERON DAVIS 50/1
Young aussie who a fine talent who feel should do enough get a tour card this week but could do even better than that as well only 25th last week he can improve on that this week
OLLIE SCHNIEDERJANS 100/1
Last time play here in 2016 was 7th so form he got at this course this a big week for him as not want to stay on korn ferry tour needs a big week to get his PGA Tour card
CHARLIE SAXON 150/1
This guy started well last week but he drop away at the weekend but those early rounds by suggest form is there for him to take a hand here this week can make a impact here.
August 27, 2019 at 17:55 #1452258You had me thinking Darren, when you were totting up your golf winners, as to where
I was this this year. So I’ve checked back and quite pleased the way it’s gone. If you
were to add your tennis winners on, you would still be way out front.Desert Classic – Adam Hadwin 14/1 winner (1st round)
Adam Long 25/1 winner outright
Dubai Desert Classic – Bryson DeChambeau 14/1 winner outright
Saudi International – Thomas Pieters 40/1 winner (1st round)
WGC Mexico C’ship – DJ 11/1 winner outright
Arnold Palmer – Francesco Molinari 35/1 winner outright
WGC Matchplay – Francesco Molinari £264 win cash out on the 18th
Memorial – Patrick Cantlay 16/1 winner outright
Travelers – Chez Reavie 55/1 winner outright
Andalucia Masters – Christiaan Bezuidenhout 80/1 winner outright
3m Open – Scott Piercy 55/1 winner (1st round)
Wyndham – Sung-Jae Im 66/1 tied winner (1st round)
Czech Masters – Gavin Green 40/1 winner (1st round)
+ Thomas Pieters 18/1 winner outright
Scandinavian – Erik Van Rooyen 16/1 winner outrightI won’t list the places but quite a few ranging from 35/1 to 200/1.
All in all I think it’s been another successful year, with still a
bit to go to hopefully add one or twoAugust 27, 2019 at 19:16 #1452260Wow! 500/1 and able to bet for a place as well, Darren ! I thought I was lucky to a bet on Riley at 220/1, but no place betting put a bit of a damper on it. But I was tempted to bet on him, when I read about his stringing together a long series of aces. Now I wish I had. It reminds me of a funny anecdote of Bobby Riggs (surely, a tall story), relating to how he wore out strong server, Budge Patty, by lobbing the ball high in the air, getting him to smash back as many shots as he could.
Anyway, I’ve done a good few of your tips. You seem to speak particularly highly of Stephani in the Korn Thinngy, and Andreescu. I’m hoping the excitement of his recent, great win hasn’t unsettled Rory Mac, though for fear of that, he’s no price to write home about, is he.
Sorry for taking so long to reply, Uncle Dasbert, but I didn’t just wipe my reply once, but three times, perhaps more – I think through tiredness, hence my vagueness now. By the way, do you happen to know how much you have to bet to watch videos of the tennis of BF?
August 27, 2019 at 20:45 #1452262It’s still some record you’ve clocked up, BigG ! I think Darren is an alien, masquerading as an ‘everyday’ punter.
August 27, 2019 at 23:59 #1452263Omega European Masters
Erik Van Rooyen 25/1 (40/1 1st round leader market)
Okay it’s hard to win back to back tournaments, and it’s possible that the tight
finish he had last week might have left it’s mark but he’s playing top notch
golf and deserves to be as short as 25/1. He did okay here last year without
being in the thick of it, but he did start with a 66. That might be a couple
of strokes more than would be needed for 1st round leader (64 last year), but
he goes into this in top form.Andrea Pavan 40/1 (45/1 1st round leader market)
I think he’s in sensational form at the moment, and if I had to chose one of
my picks for winner it would be him. Winner of the BMW earlier this year, he
looked back to top form when he finished 3rd in the Czech Masters earlier this
month and last time out he started with a pish poor 74 in the Scandanavian
Invitational, but then shot 15 under par in his next 3 rounds. If he had
got off to any kind of decent start he would have been in with a shout. Those
last 3 rounds show here his game is at the moment.Gavin Green 70/1 (66/1 1st round leader market)
He did me a big favour a couple of weeks back when 1st round leader at the
Czech masters, but had obviously been hit in the head with a golf ball when
he lost the plot in the 2nd round with a horror 75. He’s better than that
and he righted the ship last week with a respectable T16 at the Scandinavian
Invitational, particularly with 3 rounds of 65, 66 and 67. He just missed the
cut here last year, but his game is miles better now than then. If he can
lose the one bad round he’s been prone to throwing in, he has a very decent
chance.Ashun Wu 100/1 (80/1 1st round leader market)
It seems all 3 of us are having a crack at Wu, maybe Grimes might too. He’s
speculative, but as Darren has already pointed out, he seems to like it
round here with 2 top 10 finishes in that past 2 years. He’s playing
pretty well and in Sweden last week he had 3 good rounds o64, 67 and 67.
Worth a pop at these odds. Well done Darren and Raymo getting the 125s,
I’ve missed out on that but will happily settle for 100/1 if he pulls
it off.The PGA Tour takes a break for a couple of weeks, and I can’t quite get excited
about what’s getting dished up the other side of the pond, so I’m going to follow
Raymo and stick with the one tournament this week. Very best of luck guys.
I know the US Open tennis is under way Darren, I’ll maybe wade through a few
worthies and see if I know enough (not a cat in hell’s chance) of these racket
wielding sortsAugust 28, 2019 at 15:20 #1452284Strange you should ask that, BigG. I was in fact wonderng about a bet on Ashun Wu, in the light of him being fancied by some of you earlier, and performing pretty well. I’m more or less fully extended betswise at present, but I’ll have to have a little on him now.
August 28, 2019 at 16:55 #1452289Grimes no alien me
BigG any views on PGA Money list ladbrokes other firms got prices up i was gutted mate last year Patrick Cantlay 100/1 but came 4th he did i will in a few days

I n total I have staked £2440 for returns of £3370 which is a profit I know but a disappointing one really but I shouldn’t complainAugust 29, 2019 at 01:34 #1452332Good luck Grimes, if Wu wins I think we should have some kind of Darren’s Thread party
Darren that was bloody bad luck with Cantlay, you weren’t far off the mark. I’m not sure
who I’ll back for next year, it’s hard to see past Koepka but at 11/4 it’s not a bet that
does anything for me, especially as it’s over a full season. Justin Thomas might be of
interest at 10/1, and I keep expecting 3 time Major winner Jordan Spieth to eventually
work out why his game has gone south. He’s only 26 and surely he can tweak his game to
get back in contention for the bigees. It seems incredible that you have to go back 2 years
for his last win in the Open. He could be of interest to me at 50/1 with SkyBet. Schauffele
is another who might be worth a stab at at 12s. I haven’t bet anything yet, I’ll post up if
I do.Raymo that’s a very decent record yourself, and like you said, you were hard done by in a
good few last round upsets where you were looking pretty. The thick edge of a grand taken
out of the bookies satchell is not to be sniffed at. It’s another sterling year from you
mate, what a great team we have got going here
I haven’t worked out the the exact full stakes to returns, I know I’m very well ahead but
I’ll need to tot it up without missing the also rans , I’ll maybe get my abacus out to get
the full picture. It’s been a pleasure guys, as always, this year. Lets hope we can skin them again in the
new PGA season which starts with the Greenbrier on 12 September. The European Tour still
has a bit of clearing up to do in the race to Dubai at Crans-sur-sierre starting later
this morning. Hopefully we can get a run for our moneyAugust 29, 2019 at 17:18 #1452362‘Belgium Knockout Guido Migliozzi 60/1
Wyndham Clasic J T Poston 90/1
US Open Gary Woodland 75/1’
– Raymo, a selection of wins of Raymo of this parish.… Apart from your 28/1, 20/1 and mere double figure wins of a lower order… and the 100/1+ places.
Bloody stroll on, Ray ! I should think you shouldn’t complain ! Well done, Matey.
August 29, 2019 at 18:54 #1452364Close, but no cigar (well maybe a cheroot)in the 1st round leader betting. Both Van Rooyen
(40/1 1st round) and Gavin Green (66/1 1st round) were 6 under and 1 off the outright lead
going to the last, and both managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with a bogey
each Joint 5th means I still get the e/w return, but I was hoping for better standing
on the 18th tee. Being that as it may, they are both well placed for the tournament just 2 off
the outright lead, so I’m still hopefulAugust 29, 2019 at 20:03 #1452366I was watching your two closely Graham and saw they both got to six under!!
Like you say close but no cigar!!
But it sets your men up nicely to be there come SundayAugust 29, 2019 at 20:09 #1452367Cheers Raymo, hopefully they can make amends come Sunday
August 29, 2019 at 22:04 #1452368aarghh!!….cancel that e/w, I missed that some late bugger slipped into 6 under,
which pushed my 2 out to joint 6th. Definitely no cigar nowI’ll take the long view and hope they come good in the end…..I hope
August 29, 2019 at 22:31 #1452369I am sorry to hear that Graham.
I have a 200/1 shot at four under!
But I expect him to fall away LOL
I see Lorenzo Vera is joint leader and he was definitely backable having led in the final round last year !!August 30, 2019 at 00:09 #1452372Well, BigG, Darren does seem a bit of a ‘one-off’ bookies’ bogeyman, doesn’t he? But the rest of you don’t seem far behind him, yerselves. Thanks for reminding me about Speith’s overdue promise, too. I did bet on him once, but had forgotten the reasons you gave.
I’ve done a short-priced treble 34/1 with Cori Gauff (won), Rory Mac and Simona Halep. I was very impressed by her look of very single-minded concentration, when she beat the Williams girl. Also, singles and a double with the last two.
So, as I mentioned earlier, I’ll be concentrating on the more fancied ones with a proven, consisently strong temperament under pressure. Relatively consistent, of course. (Van der Wheil’s ‘class’?) The transfer from Van der Wheil’s system for the horses seems to hold up quite well.
I wonder how many of you are old enough to remember him? Had a nice little chat with a girl serving in a supermarket the other week. She looked at me as if she thought she might have liked to get to know me a bit better, when I was 50 or 60 years younger (literally … 29 or 19!), if she’d been born, that is. Or her mother for that matter ! Anyway it gave me a buzz – as well as reminding me I’m no spring chicken – hence the query about any of you remembering the mighty Che Van der Wheil.
