ANDREA ATZENI 20/1 To win jockeys title

FIRST VICTORY 25/1 EW 1000 Guineas

Has long term readers of my 2yo summary thread know i got MINDING at 25/1 to win fillys classic i think she train on and win it. but only worry is AOB normally wins 1000 guineas with a horse who had a run the news that MINDING go to Newmarket without a prep worry me a bit.Heard ALICE SPRINGS run in a guineas trail at 20/1 she looks intresting was staying on well in moyglare 3rd behind MINDING.But the ew pick is unbeaten Godolphin horse who won both her races at Newmarket. After her last win some said she may be a oaks horse but after that win she showed pace that day she had race won did not go to dubai she looks being main 3yo from stable.

    My derby bets are

    MIDTERM 20/1

Only a maiden winner but was very green but the way he finish the race down the near side rail was impressive.A trainer who trains his derby horses like this did the same with WORKFORCE and CARLTON HOUSE Stoute know what he doing i think he make his 3yo return at Sandown before going to Dante then to Epsom.

    MOONLIGHT MAGIC 33/1

Unbeaten colt he is while wins his races by not far he always had enough to win. he a backward horse and look raw at 2 but with a summer on his back he winter well and develop into stronger horse. be the type who progress into a smart colt.Going to Derringstown derby trail Jim Bolger said after listed win

My views on AOB derby horses

If i had to pick one it be

    COOK ISLANDS

Ran in a hot maiden first time up behind HIT IT A BOMB that a strong race the winner is unbeaten and breeders cup winner. Then won maiden at Navan where he won very well was very strong at finish he looks to me the horse who will develop into one of the main derby horses for AOB

ANDASTRA 50/1 To win epsom oaks

After she won at Nottingham i saw performance i felt she win oaks. Beckett a man who knows the type of filly to win oaks wasted no time in saying she go to Lingfield oaks trail. While that not normally a strong race.He does send smart 3yos there like LOOK HERE and Secrect Gesture. And this german bred filly looks like a smart middle distance horse for 2016.

My 3yo dark horses to follow

    ZEST.Trained by James Fanshawe

Zest is related to Duke Of Marmalade fact she won at 1m is intresting when you think she want middle distances at 2. no doubt when she tackles 1m4 she come into her own.Fanshawe has some smart horses this year and in this one could become a group one winner in 2016.

    VINCENTS FOREVER.John Gosden

Won at 7f at Leicester was outpaced early before finishing strong by Pour Moi looks a forgotten horse many say FOUNDATION a derby horse if that true.Than this maiden winner looks a leger horse he wants a step up in trip and not shock me if he wins a 3yo handicap before going into group races running at Doncaster in final classic.

    MOOTAHARER.Charlie hills

Was placed on debut before win maiden at Newmarket related to Smart sprinter Muahaar he has more stamina then speed. There is talk of him going to 2000 guineas but i think he come into his own when he goes up in trip i think 1m2 will end up as best trip for him.

THE TIN MAN To win Diamond jubliee 12/1

When he flopped at York in a way i was happy because i felt then that in 2016 he win the WOKINGHAM handicap but then He runs over CD and bolts up in handicap and blows handicap mark need to find a new horse now.But anyway back to this horse he was very very good that day then was supplemented for champions day sprint. though was 4th that was a good effort by him to go from handicap into group one is hard but he ran well.Has i said before James Fanshawe a smart trainer and always do well at Royal Ascot this a smart sprinter who i think get even better in 2016.

LEONTES 25/1 To win prix de arc de trimophe

When you look at market Postponed is fav for race while he top horse normally you look at 3yos for the arc.And for me Japan could be the place where they finally get that arc winner. LEONTES won maiden race at 2 before winning Asahi hai futurity a group one for 2yos biggest 2yo race in japan he came from last to beat Air Spinel a very taking performance by him.He had a start this year where he was beat by MAKAHIKI while that was dissapointing. There no doubt in my mind he can develop into a key player in the arc this year i hope he gets a jockey from Europe on him as well.

Darren, I have done 20 to follow on a different forum. The content has to remain exclusive to that site under their terms.

Cook Islands is in my list. I felt he ultimately ran out a good winner in his maiden and I feel he will get the Derby trip comfortably. The one thing I would say is that he’s not a turn of foot horse and it takes the best part of a couple of furlongs to collar and master his field in his maiden win. In an open year he has a chance but I slightly favoured his stablemate Beacon Rock as the value at 40/1 for Epsom. Like Cook Islands I see him improving big time for the step up to 12f and both could be St Leger horses if not speedy enough for Epsom.

Well done with Minding, I looked at her and considered her for the Guineas but narrowly preferred stable companion Alice Springs at the time and you can’t back them all. I have done Alice Springs, Antonoe and Trixia as my ante-post three, all at big odds. I am not sure if Antonoe will line up but Alain De Royer Dupre has indicated that Prix Imprudence and Newmarket is the route he hopes to go with Trixia and I felt a bit of 33/1 was worth an each-way investment before the trial race.

In the 2000 Guineas I have done Air Force Blue at 12/1 and 10/1, with cover on Foundation and Blue De Vega at 20/1. I am hoping to get away without having further bets on the day. I had a couple of quid on Shogun but it’s not worked out for him at the 33/1 he was after his maiden win. That maiden race has yet to throw up a winner after many attempts and must be one of the worst of its type in recent years. I have binned the Shogun bet already.

In the Derby I did Foundation and Recorder at 33/1 and 50/1 early doors but Recorded was badly injured about two days after the bet was struck. I had a couple of quid on Idaho at 25/1 just because he was running in France and I felt the odds would collapse if he won. It seemed ambitious running him straight into group 1 company and on heavy ground after just one maiden win and it was astonishing that he was 6/4 favourite on the day. He ran respectably but I would bet Aidan regrets running him now, I can’t see how it could have helped the horse and he had said after Idaho’s maiden win that they didn’t need to run him again. I have added Beacon Rock at 40/1 and that’s it for the Derby for now.

Andastra is in my 20 to follow 3yo list and she made an astonishing debut, smartly away and made all, with the race over a long way from home. It will be interesting if she continues as a front runner. I am not sure if she is certain to get the Oaks trip but she could hardly have won more easily on her debut.

Clear Skies at 50/1 and Best In The World at 25/1 are my two ante post for Epsom and the Oaks. The former is by Sea The Stars and was surprisingly dropped in trip when second to hot Favourite Alice Springs on her third start. She will need to improve a lot. Best In The World looked a type to improve a lot for time and the step up to a mile and a half. An outsider for now, but all the early fancies faded away last year so this time around the early favourites Ballydoyle and Minding will have to prove that they can go from Guineas to Oaks and get the extra half mile.

The Tin Man should make up into a good sprinter this season and he’s one to be interested in. John Gosden’s Shalaa and any Guineas non stayers are ones who could put a spanner in the works though.

My early pick for the Arc De Triomphe was New Bay at 12/1. He was third last year and there is no guarantee that there is anything as good as Golden Horn coming through from the 3yo ranks this year. Softer ground would also assist him and he could easily improve this season.

Good luck with your bets this year Darren.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Darren is very talented at spotting talent he is,his Minding is solid on the exchanges where as my Ballydoyle and Coolmore are trading at 25’s and 38’s respectively.Of course I have taken bigger prices about both as I believe Aiden wont commit any horse until he knows the ground on the day.
