Bets in golf at candian open

    HUNTER MAHAN 40/1

On this course in 2013 he was halfway leader before WD because wife went into labour well that not happen this week.Hunter can return to this course and play as well he did then.

    BUBBA WATSON 16/1

Bubba missed the cut at Chambers bay won next time out. While he knew the course well at travellers than this one.I still feel he can over power a course like this.

    JB HOLMES 40/1

Another big hitter who will be suited by this course he can do well here had a good season so far been quiet in recent weeks but can bounce back here.

    SEAN’O HAIR 90/1

Won a candain open on a different course but has been placed at glen abbey. So likes this course as well a player who can go well at a big price

    CHEZ REAVIE 125/1

Been hitting the ball in recent weeks finding greens for fun and won this event before so think he can do well here this week.

Well I’m giving myself an interest in all three tournaments this week, hoping
that I can crack one of them.

A superb open and hats off to Zach for hanging in there, although I did fancy Louis
in the play off. I thought I was in with a shout after the 1st 2 rounds with Luke
Donald, before he blotted his copy book with a 73 in the 3rd round. He finished strongly,
but was too far back and 12th is close but no cigar.

If it hasn’t taken too much mentally out of Luke, that’s 12 rounds, with only one round
over par. At 25/1 I think he is decent enough value in the Canadian Open.

In the Omega Masters, it’s much the same story. If it hasn’t taken too much mentally out
of Danny Willet, who played a stormer to finish 6th in the Open then he has a great chance of
winning this. He plays well here, having never missed the cut in 7 appearances, including finishing
runner up in 2012 and 5th last year. 16/1 seems generous with his current form being hot.

To round off my 3 timer, I’m again going with my old pal Miguel Angel Jimenez in the Seniors Open.
I’ve bet him so often of late that I feel entitled to have shares in him. He has been playing some
decent stuff on the regular tour, so hopefully against the old brigade, he might just manage to get his
head in front this time. He’s not a huge price at 6/1, but I think he’s the likeliest winner so I’m not
looking a gift horse in the mouth.

I’ve also done something I’ve not done with the golf before, and that’s to have an e/w treble. It’s probably
because there aren’t normally 3 tournaments running at the same time that I would bet on. If the three of them
knock it off, I’ll be doing my reporting from Barbados for the next six months. I’d settle for one.

    Good luck guys

Thanks Darren, it was tight right to the end with Willet, but he kept his nerve and he deserved the win.
You were unlucky with Bubba, he can be a frustrating player to watch. He has so much ability but sometimes his game is all over the place. If he hadn’t had such a patchy first nine in the final round, he could easily have won this, he finished really strongly but couldn’t quite peg Day back.

I haven’t looked at next weeks golf yet, I’ll post later in the week.

    Cheers :good:

Bernard Tomic was a 4/1 winner in Claro open so happy he won not had a tennis winner for a while.Bets this week.

In the Atlanta open gone with 2 i not normally do that but find it hard to split them

    JACK SOCK 6/1

Jack has improved so much this year won the clay may be better on clay but i see him having a good hardcourt season he may face Isner in semi final if he does can go either way but think he can win it.

    GILES MULLER 20/1

Got to final in 2012 but got beat by Andy Roddick 2015 been a great year for this big server and style of play will make him a danger in this half of the draw.Mannario be tired and think Muller go all the way.

PABLO ANDJUAR 6/1 To win ATP Swiss open

He won it last year and can win it again it looks weaker compare to last year as well.Feliciano lopez not won on clay
also not suit Goffin as well. And the man from spain can win it again.

    Golf bets this week

In matchplay 1st i gone with in trying to predict 4 in the semi final hope one that wins it.

    NICHOLAS COLSAERTS 45/1

No doubt not been in great form but he loves matchplay won this event in 2012 beat MC Dowell in final and while that was not on a links course. The format here he loves and get his season started with a win here.

    RITCHIE RAMSAY 20/1

Ramsay loves playing links golf a very good player who is strong mentally as well you need that in matchplay think he go well in this.

    THOMAS PIETERS 70/1

Powerfull hitter he is has decent form this year and being agressive and going for birdies will be needed and he do that from the start.

    DAVID HORSEY 66/1

Comes into form at this part of the year and think this player can play in this

    Quicken loans bets

    RICKIE FOWLER 11/1

Rickie proved at Scottish open not only he can act on tough courses but can excell on them too.Think he is a classy player who can win this set him perfect for Bridgestone and the last major of the year.

    SHAWN STEFANI 50/1

Was runner up last year to Justin Rose and while this a different course compare to last year.He still can go well at decent price.Season not been good so far but in recent showing signs he is coming into form.Performances at wells fargo and Greenbreier

    RUSSEL KNOX 50/1

Another who not won on tour yet but decent showings in Scottish open show his time of winning may come soon and may be this week.

    KEVIN CHAPPEL 80/1

One of the best maidens out there still not won on tour but show decent form last month and slowy coming int form he is.

    LUKE GUTHRIE 125/1

Played well in 1st two rounds of john dere classic faded after that but this a tough course and that suit him very well.

raymo61 posted “Well done Big G good spot!”

Thanks raymo, it’s nice to get a few quid back from the bookies.

In the Paul Laurie Match Play, I’m weighing in with Darren and his choice of
Nicolas Colsaerts. His huge drives will make much of this short course a little more than pitch
and putt. I would have taken the 45/1 with Coral, but I can’t get a bet on with that
bloody useless firm, so I’ll settle for 40/1 with Skybet.

I’m also having a few quid on James Morrison at 28/1. He is looking a solid player this year,
having won the Spanish open, 2nd in the French, and a very respectable 20th in the Open. His final
round of 69 was a good round and he was under par in all 4 rounds. He also has the ability to go very
low, and a birdie machine is what you want in Match Play.

I’m still having a look at the Madeira Islands Open, I’ll add a bit later.

The Madeira Islands Open is not quite filled with top notch
European and US golfers, so I’m picking two who have shown occasional
glimpses of good form and hope they get it right on the day.

Lee Slattery at 50/1 with Coral, generally 40/1 elsewhere, and
Tjaart Van Der Walt generally at 50/1.

    Best of luck

    Tennis bets this week

ANDY MURRAY 13/8 To win ATP Citi open

Andy can get his US Open preparations off to great start by winning here.He been in form all year do not see anyone stopping him this week.Isner be hard in quarter final always play well in summer hardcourts. But Andy should have enough for him.

SLOANE STEPHENS 13/2 to win WTA Citi open

She has a perfect draw on these hardcourts i don’t see anyone in her half who can beat her.The thing with Sloane it is in her head she got all the talent if she can put all together she a lively outsider in US Open.

CAROLINE WOZNIACKI 100/30 to win Bank of the west classic

She is seeded to face Pliskova in semi final which be hard but i expect Wozza to come through it i think she have a wonderfull summer and this her time of year it is where she shows her best form.

MARTIN KLIZAN 12/1 To win Generali open

Last claycourt event of the year. And while Domanic Theim on a hat trick won last 2 clay events in 2weeks think he be tired now.And bet is Klizan who not been in best of form but being last clay event of year he want to do better has decent draw to.

Bets this week in golf at WGC Bridgestone my 1st ever winner on golf with A Scott at 45/1 in 2011

    ADAM SCOTT 18/1

Winner here in 2011 and plays well he loves it here and after last 2 majors he is now back in form and can be the man to beat here this week.

    RICKIE FOWLER 16/1

Rickie was wasteful last week missed so many putts on saturday which put him clear in quicken loans instead had to settle for 2nd.Plays well before a major won Scottish open. And has long as he putts better see him as big danger to Scott.

    HIDECKI MATSUYAMA 33/1

This course is like the memorial so am going with the last 2winners of that event.Matsuyama won it last year.Been quiet in recent starts but no doubt he can bounce back here.

    DAVID LINGMERTH 80/1

Won memorial this year beat Justin Rose in playoff also 3rd last week a player who not afraid of big names on a sunday. Can continue to improve here as well.

    RUSSEL HENLEY 100/1

Not been in form this year but think he turn the corner soon been making cuts but contended yet apart from early in the year.

Any bets Big G and Raymo this week. Was gutted on Fowler last night

    Hi Darren

You had a good run with with Rickie Fowler in the Quicken Loans National, but you must have been pulling your hair out with Kevin Chappell !!!!!. He had three great rounds, I was rooting for you as you had him at 80/1, I thought he might pull it off until he totally fell apart in the last round. Good luck in the Bridgestone this week.

I’m having a go with Kevin Kisner at 80/1.
He has been in really good form this year, 2nd in The Heritage, The Players Championship and The Greenbier a couple of weeks back. He didn’t do too well in The Open, he just missed the cut, but St Andrews would have been completely alien to him. That first win can’t be far away. He has had a couple of weeks off so hopefully he will be refreshed for this.

I’m also taking Danny Lee to continue his good recent run. Taking The Open out, he has not been out of the top 4 in his last three tournaments, including winning The Greenbrier. He is also 80/1

I think they are both well overpriced and very decent e/w bets.

I might also have a few quid e/w on Danny Willet, who has done me quite well of late. If he can transfer his European form to the US, he is no way an 80/1 shot. I’d kick myself if he popped up in the Bridgestone, and he owes me nothing anyway, so I will no doubt grab some of the 80/1 before they start.

    That’s me for this week.

    Good luck guys
