April 11, 2016 at 22:33 #1242109What a wonderful story, I have locked the recording in and will watch it again and again.
Dream Alliance certainly was the horse of a lifetime and to come back from that near fatal tendon injury to win the Welsh Grand National what a brave horse he was (and still is).Just shows that you don’t have to be a Sheik to breed a winning racehorse just a £300 Mare, a £3,000 stud fee and a band of people who loved their horse so much that they gladly gave back the prize money that he had earnt them to pay for his operation.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 11, 2016 at 23:31 #1242112I’ve not got round to watching it yet Jac, but got it recorded. It sounds just my cup

Thanks DG for spotting this one
April 12, 2016 at 09:27 #1242143I saw the film on Sat, curious thing about it is that Sarah Hobbs participates as does Assistant Trainer Johnson White, but no Philip Hobbs, it looks like Johnson is the trainer. Excellent watch.
April 12, 2016 at 14:08 #1242172A great film!! Heart warming tale and it was nice to see them put the money up for the operation!!
I did wonder why no Philip Hobbs though.

I wondered that too.
April 12, 2016 at 20:21 #1242195Incredibly well made and got 5 star ratings when it was released albeit not being shown in many cinemas (even though it was advertised quite a lot on TV at the time. I followed Dream from when he ran so well in the Hennessey and loved the film. You really couldn’t have made it up, could you.
April 13, 2016 at 04:46 #1242222Another short interview with the breeders: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNw5xI3OYEE
April 18, 2016 at 08:08 #1242834Just watched this for the first time, a wonderful story and film.
Can you imagine the despair at losing the mare one day, then Dream Alliance breaking down badly the day after?
I see they’re trying again and have reserved the name “Impossible Dream”.
Maybe The Racing Forum should start a syndicate, possibly without the breeding aspect with the hope of having a Grand National runner one day
