Anyone out there like me who thinks Creachadoir can go all the way to the top. I thought his performance today was very taking, considering he was involved in general bunching shortly after the start, the further he went the more he pulled away, certainly on my short list for the Irish Guineas. He looks for all the world to me another Bolger big improver ie Alexander Goldrun. I think Creachadoir stays 10 furlongs I thought the horse had a bit more to give behind Moores Well at Leopardstown, Kevin Manning certainly wasn’t over hard on him.
I suppose Teofilo fans will feel even more peeved, while Bolger thinks very highly of Creachadoir he thought Teofilo was on another planet.
May 7, 2007 at 20:52 #57794Maybe so Marx, but was the opposition in this years Tetrarch any more than ordinary?
The only other serious contender that I considered to be in the race was Top Class, and when that one drifted like the proverbial barge out to double figures from 4’s then, well ……………
I’m not sure I can agree with your assesment of Creachadoir staying 10f. He patently didn’t stay in the Ballysax over 1m 2f. His best performance to date I reckon was over the mile when winning the Leopardstown Guineas Trial last month.
May 7, 2007 at 21:24 #57796Have a look back at the Ballysax on ATR archive hoof, I thought the horse had a bit more to give and Kevin didn’t exactly knock him about when his chance was gone and was only beaten a little over 2 lenghts. Anyway 10 furlongs is for another day, lets get the Irish Guineas out of the way first, where he will be carrying my dough.
Later hoof.
May 7, 2007 at 22:02 #57798I very much doubt that performance today would see him even placed in the Irish Guineas, He beat Napper Tandy who is rated 91 and Napper Tandy was beaten a head by Manaal who was beat the other day of 80. Alexander Tango is possibly the most reliable yardstick and she didnt run her race and was in a bad position anyway. Doubt he wudda been in the top 10 on sat with the win today.
Looks a bit like a Heliostatic of last season can pick up a Group 3 or Listed but once he goes higher he just isnt good enough.
May 7, 2007 at 22:20 #57799Looked to make hard work of it today and after 3 races in quick succession maybe needs freshening up
He’s a decent horse
May 8, 2007 at 21:15 #57801yeah i agree with u marz. creachadior is a proper horse, held in high regard with connections, and even if he did make it look a little harder than he ought to, he still had plenty in hand, and certainly is in my book for the future.

Cheers Johnny, talk to you later.
May 27, 2007 at 11:04 #57804Not quiet, but he is getting mighty close. Just pipped in French Guinneas, travelled like a dream yesterday, actually was travelling better than the winner at one stage, which forced Manning to take a little pull, I think he thought he had the winner covered, Cockney Rebel just had a little bit more toe at the finish. Creachadoir should pick up a deserved Group 1 sometime in the year, and he will almost certainly stay in training next year.

Actually, empty wallet, Bolger is to give him a good break, his next target is to be the Moulin in Paris.
But I wouldnt bank on it where Bolger is concerned, the horse might be bucking at home and end up running in the James Palace.
May 27, 2007 at 11:28 #57809Hope he does freshen him up MM, he deserves a G1 winners medal imhaho
May 27, 2007 at 11:54 #57810Why would he need "freshening up" when he’s clearly in the form of his life?

I am great believer in racing horses, as that is what they are there for, and Bolger never shirks a challenge.
To me 3 weeks to the St James Palace would be ample time to recover, and Creachadoir seems to made of the same tough constitution like a lot of Bolger’s charges.
So why not, as you say Gus he is in the form of his life.
But going on what Bolger said post race the Moulin will be his next target. Personaly I would like to see him contest 10 furlong races in the future, as I, unlike a lot of others am not convinced he did not stay the 10 in the Ballysax, certainly worth another try Gus.
May 27, 2007 at 12:26 #57814The Question is wud u of pulled this up if he had of been down the field? well done anyway but he’ll never win a group 1

I wouldn’t be so sure of that Money On
Gus
just my observations and i don’t think a couple of weeks is enough recovery time for a horse that is giving it’s all when he runs, you can maybe get away with it against lesser opposition, but against similar ability horses i don’t think you can
Darjina
Astronomer Royal
CR
all only second run, some with a bigger gap between runs
Hardy Eustace in AIG (no race against DC)
All "fresher" than their rival imo

I didn’t bring it up to rub it in Money on, I suppose I was more blowing my own trumpet. 2 guineas 2nd’s entitles the horse to be called a top class performer. Winning a group 1 wont be easy as the competition is fairly strong, but a length 2nd to dual Guineas winner entitles him to go close in any race he contests.
