9 exciting types here, good race chaps and chapesses? I’m sort of conflicted as I want a fair bit of rain for Tuesdays runners but not too much to be at a detriment for Wednesdays.

Aomori City 4/1 – My Selection. Great effort from stall 11 at Chester Del Mar stepped up to a mile. Ran well enough in a group 2 6f here. Price was generous for a boy in blue.

Wimbledon Hawkeye 9/2 – Fine 2 year old, probably needs further than this, passed on but respected.

Field Of Gold 5/1 – Disappointing on Arc day, won a weak Solario, should be around 8/1.

Opera Ballo 11/2 – Buick favours AC, this one visually nice at Kempton, runner up has disappointed since.

Matauri Bay 8/1 – Behind Field of Gold in Solario, ran no race behind Twain on heavy. Wind Surgery and better ground can help.

Benevento 25/1 – Value. Disappointing on soft last run, back to better ground might help. Wouldn’t put anyone off a small wager.

The Waco Kid 25/1 – Pass, needs to have improved a bundle.

The Watcher 25/1 – 1/5 winner on AW, unexposed but unlikely to trouble these. Ya never know though.

I know he may want further on time, but Wimbledon Hawkeye does not look devoid of pace and his effort when second in the Acomb Stakes is easily the best form on display here. I honestly couldn’t believe that he isn’t clear favourite for this – maybe the stable have said he’ll need the run, or something, but I don’t use social media so I must have missed it.

    He’ll do for me.

Field Of Gold for me. Wasn’t seen to best effect in France. Even so, holds Henri Matisse if the form line is anything to go by .. who has the beating of Aomori City. On that evidence, I expect FOG to cast a cloud over the opposition.

Not enthused by the conditions, a mix of rain and consistent watering will have it a bit sticky by the time this race comes along. Wimbledon Hawkeye I’ve come around to more based on his Royal Lodge victory but that price has gone now. I’ll comment if I do place a bet, hoping for a drift.

Followed Wimbledon Hawkeye last season but I’ve a feeling he won’t progress much more.
The Watcher takes a huge step up but his sire has a fair record at the Craven meeting so will be a speculative punt.

Horrible riding efforts there from most of the jockeys, shoemark was on the process of giving FOG a howler and they just parted like the red sea and let him through! By far the best horse, still, though, shouldnt have won from there

Well played, happy for Shoemark, was quick to write FOG off.
Couldn’t believe Opera Ballo had been so well supported in the market.
    Ok from Aomori.
I assume there’s an issue with all the initial thread posts?

    Ta all.

    wd winners.

When Shoemark held him up behind a wall of horses on the rail I wasn’t expecting much from there, but it worked out in the end.

Anyone on him at big odds for the Guineas?

    He looks an absolute aeroplane.
