    AGARTHA 20/1

Expect her go close in Irish 1000 guineas and had good runs so far this season. I think going around a bend and go close here after all doubt a top 3yo miler this year.

    Cachet,

A Classic winner (and close 2nd in France) deserves to be one of the favorites here and not at the odds she’s currently listed which are about 5x greater than the favorite (Homeless Songs).

Could turn out to be the race of the meet, if the main expected runners show up. Connections have confirmed that Pizza Bianca, last year’s BC Juv Fillies Turf winner, is making the trip…

Gosden said: “It can happen to some fillies in the spring, she’s taken a long time to come right and you don’t want to rush them. She’s pleasing me now and going the right way. She’s goes for the Coronation, for which Mr (Dermot) Weld will be favourite (with Homeless Songs).

“It’s great when it happens (the Guineas winners meet), it’s like a grand finale and you find out who the best is.

“She’s coming to herself and I think we’re beginning to see the filly of last year, so we’ll hope for a big performance. I think she’s getting close to being exactly where we want her and as long as the next few days go all right, she can put up a bold show.

“We have been (keen to run), but sometimes in this game you just have to be patient.”

Gosden half sounds like he’s laying down the excuses to pull her out to me

Looking unlikely Homeless Songs will turn up as trainer said its a No if the word Firm is anywhere in the going description. And Inspiral may need the run after her setback.

    Prosperous Voyage 8-1 ew

On the same card as the Irish 1000, Alenquer put up a time beating the RP standard by 1.16 fast at 10.5f in the Tatts Gold Cup. Was a slight tailwind but I’d say the true state of the going was no firmer than Good and possibly between good and good-firm.

    However,
Weld also said Homeless Songs needs time between her races.
Had 168 days off before winning the Guineas Trial and 50 to the Irish Guineas.
This will only be 26 days if running which puts me off more than “Good-firm”.

She missed Newmarket, she missed Lomgchamp, she apparently doesn’t want it too quick, she needs time between her races – there are safer bets at 11/10 in the course of a year yet I wouldn’t bet against a filly that’s 7lb better than anything else in the race.

I wouldn’t entirely rule out Mangoustine, but fast ground an unknown for her too.

I hate Inspiral for failing to even beat Gosden’s cat on the gallops this spring and knackering my ante-post bet on her, so this could be another race to watch for me.

    Sandrine 16/1 EW

Last years Albany winner. She ran a good race to be 5th in the 1000 Guineas won by Cachet finishing only half a length behind Tuesday in 3rd and she goes on good to firm. :good:

With the way Frankie’s fortunes have been going this week, Inspiral will need a miracle to win this

Gonna give my guineas fancy discoveries one more chance @8/1

See if she can follow her relatives alpha centauri and alpine star and win this

Happy to go against the top two

tbh I don’t understand why Prosperous Voyage is so much bigger than Cachet’s 13/2 in the betting. Cachet didn’t improve when second in France and Prosperous Voyage is on the improve. May be one is regarded as a winner and the other a bridesmaid, but her three seconds were against Cachet and two Inspiral. She’ll need a truly run race but should get one if the USA horse takes on Cachet.

11/1 Prosperous Voyage too big to ignore.

Thought I may be against Inspiral but didn’t expect 3/1. She dominated as a two year old and imo worth a bet to see if she can maintain the upward curve. That said, if drifting too much may be a sign connections don’t think she’s fit enough.

The other one I’ve backed is the french horse Mangoustine @ around 9/1. Form book will say she hasn’t raced on good-firm yet, but that’s not what the clock says! …And again unlike Cachet she’s still progressive.

A non bet of a race if ive ever seen one

Inspiral wins if shes progressed from 2

Cachets peaked and wont improve on 112

Prosp voy looks to have a solid chance but id be concerned enough about the track and the fact she cant win

The rest are close enough to the above 2 to upset the places

It really revolves around the fav, complete guesswork of a race, group 1 handicap

So which race do you think Prosperous Voyage should have won, ham?
    Someone has to be second.

Should she have won the Guineas? Should she have beaten Cachet? She improved to be second, isn’t it expecting a bit too much for her to win the 1000 for which she started 33/1?

Should she have beaten the standout Champion juvenile of last season at Doncaster, 15/2 in the May Hill or at Newmarket in the Fillies Mile at an SP of 16/1?

Reminds me of when I was talking to a bloke at Goodwood back in 1996. He said a similar thing about this horse we were looking at in the paddock. I said I thought it as genuine as they come, just beaten by better horses at the time, runner-up on 7 of his then 12 starts.
Anyway, the horse won that day and didn’t do too badly afterwards.
    The bloke’s name Mark Winstanley.
    The horse’s name Singspiel.

Don’t think it’s the strongest of renewals so I’ve taken a chance on Grande Dame.

    Not looking good for Inspiral.
On the drift while a stable companion is well backed.
Someone (Ian?) somewhere (Hampshire?) knows something (of how they’re going at home)?
