May 15, 2024 at 08:59 #1694335Feed the Flame @ 20’s
Confirmed as a runner barring injury by his trainer. I think quite a few won’t be running given Tattersalls Gold Cup is a week earlier and Royal Ascot a fortnight later, no entries for either meeting is a bonus also.
May 15, 2024 at 11:47 #1694352King Of Steel ruled out for most of the season due to injury.
The things I want most in life are the things that I can't win.
May 15, 2024 at 13:00 #1694358Shame as he was my horse to follow for the year
With his size was expecting another 6 or 7lbs of improvement this year
But I guess he’s so big injuries are inevitable
May 15, 2024 at 14:10 #1694360King of steel not entered in the Arc this morning. Also rumours the owner has taken the 2 year old’s horses out of Varian’s stable.
If true something has happened
May 29, 2024 at 10:03 #1695921Shocking turnout and one was supplemented
Feed The Flame
Hamish
Emily Upjohn
Time Lock
LuxembourgMay 29, 2024 at 10:16 #1695923Cool. Emily might win this now. :o)
May 29, 2024 at 14:21 #1695958If the ground ends up good or quicker, these won’t even get her off the bridle.
May 29, 2024 at 23:07 #1695996I’m against Emily Upjohn and Feed The Flame here, laid them.
And backed the other three.Because on paper there does not look to be much pace in the race.
Luxembourg has struggled to get home in a fast run 12f race before, but Ryan could get an easy lead here and set a slow pace to suit himself.
On past form Emily and Flame should be near or at the back and be at a positional disadvantage. Emily might still be able to win from there, but just means she’s imo a poor price to do so.
Hamish has raced prominently before so could race more to the fore… But hasn’t done so for over a year now. Haggas is often more prepared for a slowly run affair.
Ditto Buick. Time Lock is usually at least as far back as mid-div. However, Time Lock (Ryan) did let rank outsider Outbox have too much of a lead last time, so connections could want a change of tactics, especially with first time cheek pieces.Value Is EverythingMay 30, 2024 at 22:57 #1696127Emily Upjohn 11/8, Feed The Flame 9/4 and Hamish 7/1 from 25/1. This means the ground is just about to turn heavy.
May 30, 2024 at 23:56 #1696143Didn’t see 25/1 Ruby, but I advised on my thread to take the 16/1 Hamish. Although strangely whatever the bookies had him top price at, betfair were always shorter… But now have advised my follower to LAY a bit back @ around 17/2 or 9/1.
I now have my doubts it’ll be any worse than good-soft.
Also said to LAY Emily Upjohn @ 2.16 when it looked like being soft, but now advised backing her back @ 2.6.
Trouble is I also advised a LAY of Feed The Flame and he’s shortened quite a bit since, 5.8 to 4.3. I really can’t see how he starts shorter than Lumberjack given their run styles in what might be be a slowish run race.Value Is EverythingMay 31, 2024 at 00:21 #1696145Hills had him two days ago at 25s with the ground looking rather on the good side. I thought he’d be a non-runner, so I didn’t have a bet. 16s still is a good advice.
Feed Or Flame around 11/4 to 3/1 also much shorter than two days ago.May 31, 2024 at 06:59 #1696158Yeah doesn’t feel worth having a bet now, I was contemplating FEED THE FLAME at 8/1 and less than 24hrs later he’s 7/2. Trainer said he wants good/good to soft to be at his best. No bet. Preparing to be kicked in the teeth.
May 31, 2024 at 10:49 #1696174Backed Feed The Flame

May 31, 2024 at 13:23 #1696206Backed Hamish ew. Thought it was going to be softer than it is so not confident.
