Complete joke for me this week…did they have a bad Cheltenham or something?
It started midweek with the Cheltenham ‘bonus bank’ offer they ran…the one where you did four £20 bets in the four weeks leading up to the festival (one per week on a Saturday channel 4 race) in order to gain one £20 free bet per day for the festival….good offer I thought!
On the Tuesday when logging in I had two £20 free bets in my account…one said ‘Cheltenham bonus bank’ the other said ‘Goodwill offer’…how was I to think anything different, other than one was the first one of the four and the other was Coral being generous and giving me an extra one with it being Cheltenham week? I used them both on the opening day..
On to Wednesday and again…’Cheltenham bonus bank’ free bet in there, again used up no problem…
Logged in Thursday morning and nothing in there…thought they may have just been late crediting them so left it a while…was getting on for 1 o clock and still nothing so I decided to give them a bell see what was happening…it turned out that the one they put in on the Tuesday ‘Goodwill offer’ was in fact one of the four ‘Cheltenham bonus bank’ bets…seemed a bizarre way of doing it to me…surely if you are aiming towards four free bets for the festival, one per day as it previously stated in the promotion then why would you put two in on the first day and name them differently? I questioned the lass, making this very point…she was saying she wasn’t sure so I asked if she could pass me on to someone who ‘knew’ what they were doing…
I don’t know if she thought I was being funny and did it on purpose, but she passed me on to the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced in my whole life…the most clueless person I have ever had the misfortune to speak with…I must have been on the phone to him for 25 minutes plus, only to end up and be told exactly the same thing as I was from the first lass I spoke with….I ended up being passed on again, this time to a supervisor….the usual apologies etc…yes I can see where you’re coming from but can’t do anything, i’ll pass on feedback etc…etc….just to prove how ridiculous the call was I looked at my phone when hanging up and the call duration was 37 minutes!!
That’s the customer service rant over…
Then yesterday I discovered….without pre warning, that I no longer qualify for Best Price Guarantee on their site! I only found this out after a bet had been settled at the price I took and not the SP….jumped on chat straight away to question and was told it was a decision made by traders…
My problem with that is this…
I’ve been betting nearly 25 years….although I’d like to be known otherwise, I would certainly say I fall into the category of ‘mug’ punter….I don’t do it to make money, I do it because of my enjoyment of racing/betting and the thrill of placing bets…I am probably most bookies ideal ‘bread and butter’ punter…
On the Thursday, Vautour brought me a treble home…£5 staked £468 return….and on Thursday evening I placed a £5 fourfold…one rugby match…11/4 in an 80 minute market…and three football results, including a draw! Which landed to the tune of £252…
I obviously withdrew a fair chunk which has obviously ended with them taking the BPG off me….makes me laugh….through the week they couldn’t throw enough free bet offers at me…couple of lucky wins on my part and they take their bat and ball home…
Well Corals…you are a joke and with the shocking phone call I had to endure the other day (all 37 minutes of it) it will be an easy decision to not use you anymore….hope many punters took you to the cleaners last week…
March 20, 2016 at 19:51 #1239143They seriously annoyed me too on the Cheltenham offer, I received a promotion leaflet stating if a £20 was staked before racing then a same amount free bet was available for the following day…,no promotion code of course so after a 10 minute wrangle with a similar clueless staff member I got on the for the first day and tried the same the second day and again another operator had no idea what I was requesting so I hung up and bet elsewhere.
If only they had a promotional code number I could quote but I guess that’s asking too much eh ?March 20, 2016 at 20:34 #1239147There are five cardinal rules of keeping an account in tact:
1) Never beat the price
2) Never take up a free bet offer
3) Never win
4) Never withdraw – keep the account deposit only
5) Never take advantage of loss leader markets, like the Cheltenham festival.Seems to me you broke at least four. If you beat the price on Vantour and/or the rugby, you broke all of them.
I can only console you with the fact that your casino usage will not be affected.
March 20, 2016 at 20:47 #1239149To be fair… If Corals let you keep an account open for more than five minutes… You shouldn’t really be punting on horses. All Corals are good for, is robbing old ladies at the bingo.
Scum, end of.
March 20, 2016 at 22:12 #1239162After having endless bad experiences with this firm I vowed and have kept to the vow of never betting again with them!!
March 20, 2016 at 22:26 #1239164I’ve been betting nearly 25 years….
You don’t look old enough John.

Zamorston “bet he’s not”To be fair they are all pretty much the same, betfred sent me an email giving me a free bet if I bet so much, I did but no free bet arrived. I ask them what the crack was and they said it was for new customers only and did I read the terms and conditions. I told them if it was for new customers only why send me an email and that they probably didn’t have any non existent email address so why send any at all. I answered for them in that the way it was written didn’t say jack crap about being a new customer and that was only in the t@c’s small print.

March 21, 2016 at 00:10 #1239185Corals…..aarrgghhh, don’t get me started. I wrote on here last year when I found
that if I tried to place a bet with them for say £20, I would be offered the bet at a stake
of such as 20p, and as low as 3p. That was for every bet I tried to place, and when I was so
pi**ed off that I phoned them, the only response I got was “traders decision”. After a few
more attempts I gave up and left it for months. Thought I’d try and see if things had changed
a few months later……well you can guess the rest.I’ve not bet with them for best part of a year. If I was some kind of JP McManus I could
understand them trembling with fear. They need to grow a pair.Ladbrokes are not too far behind them, withdrew any offers related to best odds, bonuses,
free bets and concessions. “They are the betting men, and this is the Ladrokes Life”, what
a fecking jokeMarch 21, 2016 at 07:05 #1239189To be fair… If Corals let you keep an account open for more than five minutes… You shouldn’t really be punting on horses. All Corals are good for, is robbing old ladies at the bingo.

Spot on but they are not alone, pretty much covers all bookmakers.
Went into a Corals shop during Cheltenham to back a horse at 5/1 for a handicap there, max bet allowed £25 lol and it wasn’t even pricewise.
They are all scum who are bleeding punters and racing dry. May as well have a Tote monopoly, just how many punters are being put off racing and betting on it by the actions of bookmakers?
Bookmakers bad for punters, bad for racing.Cue the young fella to come on and tell us Corals are the bees knees and Simon Clare is the daddy
March 21, 2016 at 08:11 #1239190You do well to get any bets on at all online with them, look for the word clunky in the dictionary and you see a picture of their website.
Once you log on, 9 times out of 10 you can’t add anything to the betslip, you inexplicably have to log out and log back in again for it to work, which due to the very slow nature of the pages loading (and I have 200mb broadband!!) and re-directing coupled with the fact that the ‘remember me’ option doesn’t work makes for a painfull experience especially if you’re trying to get on just before the off.

Zamorston “bet he’s not”I turn 40 in a few months mate so it will be about right! Can remember a few of us standing outside the door of the local Laddies at 15 listening to commentaries while an older mate put the bets on! And I won most of those bets in primary school too…having a Dad who was an ex pro rugby player, a prop weighing in at 23 stone when he played….was ‘bigger’ than most other Dads!
Not carried the winning on though unfortunately….apart from last week…which Corals didn’t seem to like!
Glad others have had problems, their loss at the end of the day…if they don’t want custom…
March 21, 2016 at 10:16 #1239200Andrew I spoke to The Young Fella about this issue last Summer, and he passed it on those who deal with it, and he confirmed that they were now aware of the issue. It worked for a few days, before all the issues re-surfaced.
Along with Ladbrokes, it’s the by far the worst Bookmakers Website out there, but for a firm to be aware of such an issue, but not to be bothered to doing anything about it, is pretty dismal.
They must lose some amount of custom because of it, but you summed it up perfectly, using the webiste is a painful experience, and I avoid it like the plague.
March 21, 2016 at 10:31 #1239201i if i want a decent bet walk around the shops to try and get the money on,it really is a waste of time on line.
A few weeks ago my son tried to get an early bet on on the boxing 11/8 (outright) and was offered 32p,then had a look on oddschecker and they had cut the price.lol
I know its a pain but imo dont show your hand online if its a decent bet and put the leg work in,this dont make it certain you’ll get it all on,but you may have half a chanceMarch 21, 2016 at 11:01 #1239204Like Andrew says
I think they fixed the log in issue and replaced it with impossible to make a selection issue
you click on the price and nothing works.
Should replace the sports betting and keep it casino, slots only, have no trouble with getting into those.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 21, 2016 at 12:11 #1239207Hi all,
TYF here – new account, long story.
I’m sorry that you’ve had a tough time with Coral’s website during the Festival. I followed up the Bonus Bank issue this morning and indeed there were some problems with free bets being credited incorrectly. As you can imagine, this was a very popular offer, so we’re sorry it was not delivered properly.
As to the website problems, these issues aren’t really my area, but I’m determined to get this betslip issue fixed for everyone. This “not able to add to betslip” bug is a weird one. I can’t replicate it, nor can anyone in the Stratford or Gibraltar offices. I have seen enough people on here, on Twitter and on other forums talking about it to believe it exists though. To help the investigation, could anyone having problems please DM me with:
– Coral username
– Exact time of problem
– Browser/browser version
– Screenshots (if possible)Thanks!
March 21, 2016 at 17:18 #1239254Mr. Pickle, it’s not just Corals website but read my post above, your phone operation needs serious attention also.
March 21, 2016 at 17:22 #1239257I have not had the “adding selections to betslip” problem for some time now, but I am always careful to log out every time.
Mobile site using Windows phone is absolutely useless though, does not work at all!I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysMarch 21, 2016 at 18:18 #1239277Oops, posted on the wrong account there. I think I got too old for ‘The Young Fella’!
Hi Blue: I’m sorry to hear that. I was poorly treated by a bookie’s CS team last week so I know how you feel. I can only apologise.
Purwell: thanks for mentioning this. It’s the first I’ve heard of a Windows phone issue, but I’ll get it raised as a high priority. I don’t have one myself, so what happens when you try to get on the site? Does the homepage load then freeze or does it crash before that? - AuthorPosts
