Calm down now, There, Their, They’re
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 27, 2016 at 18:22 #1261396Oh, Mr Singh was pure Tom Tit by the way, not much ahead of a 66/1 shot rated 35 lbs lower.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 27, 2016 at 18:28 #1261397There is no difference between your argument and that of the person who steals a six pack of Red Stripe from Tesco
You seem to be convinced that trying to back a horse at a price being offered by a bookmaker is somehow equivalent to theft. In a previous thread, you described arbing as “quite literally theft”.
This is an absurd, ridiculous argument.

August 27, 2016 at 19:23 #1261403Lost Soldier, your posts on arbers contain such vitriol it won’t be long until I need a wipe for my PC. Why has it become so personal with you? I can understand an element of brainwashing when you’re hearing such stuff at work all day, but you come across as someone who’d happily lead a lynch mob to door of any suspected arber and drag him into the street.
These people are placing legitimate bets. Whether they then to choose to lay that selection is up to them and is perfectly legal and not at all immoral or unethical. They are not ‘abusers’.
Why do you hate them so much?

Absolutely right – I think it is a common sense approach personally.
August 27, 2016 at 20:05 #1261412Lost Soldier just hates anyone who’s not a big, balls out put it all on the line gambler like he is.
That works for the bookies
August 27, 2016 at 23:47 #1261439Forgive my ignorance but if I punt an outcome at Bookmaker A then arb using Bookmaker B or lay on an exchange what difference does that make to Bookmaker A? As far as he is concerned I have placed a bet on an outcome and that is that, one of us will win the bet and the other lose. What I do elsewhere is absolutely none of his business. Or am I missing something?

I must say that I can’t recall the last time I heard of anyone going into Tesco to buy £25 worth of Red Stripe but being told that they could only have a tenner’s worth.

That’s a little bit of an unfair comparison, I can vaguely recall the odd occasion when I have requested booze from a drinking establishment and been refused

But were said drinking establishments protecting their profit margins and being total hypocrites in the process?

*THERE, obviously
I so despise you. You’re the one person who can make me actually log into and post on this forum. I’m a browser normally, but you sir make my blood boil. I think I actually hate your guts, even though we have never met. Your internet persona fits 100% with the absolute ineptness of the company you work for… You two are a perfect match. Coral are a joke, everyone knows it. Just give up on horse racing, it certainly does not need you. Ask any punter in this country who are the very worst book maker for actually taking a bet… They will say Coral. Stop gibbering about arbs and the like, your traders wet their knickers if someone wants £100 on a horse full stop. The opening poster is not in the minority… Anyone who has a bet knows that Coral are a complete joke if you are intending on wagering more than pennies. My 66 year old mother opened up an account with them, she only wanted to play bingo online bless her. She often watches the racing on a Sat, I told her a horse to back one week which won, she had stuck £30 on it, winning herself £210. A few Sats later I told her another one to back, unfortunately Coral would not let her place her £30 bet (£10 max stake). She could continue to play bingo and lose money… But Corals were scared of a 66 year old granny (for winning £210?), then stopped her from betting on horses with them as good as. What do you say about that Lost Soldier? Your company are a complete and utter joke. FOBTS & bingo for grannies are all you lot have the stomach for. How dare you come on here pouring scorn on punters, your company are a complete stain to the name bookmaker. The very worst without any shadow of a doubt.

No you’re missing nothing. In simple terms, he works for Corals, who make markets on things. He’s crying because sometimes people make money from them getting their markets slightly wrong. That’s the long and the short of it. If you do not want to lay the horse at 6-1, don’t offer it at 6-1. Someone who arbs to them, is someone who understands markets and prices. This is not the kind of punter they want, they just want mugs.
August 28, 2016 at 14:40 #1261513Frankly, I’m appalled by most of the responses above. I don’t think I can continue to contribute to TRF when most of the contributors (and the Admin and Senior Mod) are so doggedly in favour of behaviour that I see as morally indefensible. Given the aggressive reaction to my opinions – which are heartfelt and in no way just agitation as some have suggested – I think everyone would be happier if I left as well.
August 28, 2016 at 14:58 #1261516.. behaviour that I see as morally indefensible.
Yet it’s exactly what your employers do themselves.
August 28, 2016 at 15:51 #1261531Stick around LS, wouldn’t like to see you go.
Anyone with a strong opinion on something should not be put off if someone else holds a strong opinion to the contrary.Value Is EverythingAugust 28, 2016 at 15:52 #1261533Lost Soldier. Please explain what exactly is morally indefensible about arbing. Do you think it is morally indefensible to take bets and make profits on racing via the internet yet not contribute a levy to the sport?
August 28, 2016 at 15:55 #1261534Agree with Ginge, stick around.
You’re a good poster LS.Blackbeard to conquer the World
