With BCR likely to be running surely the wise decision would be to wait for the Cumberland Lodge Stakes on 3rd October , its only another five weeks and no possible Arc runners will be in it , then he can be put away to build for Autumn next year .

And then Henderson would have been accused of running scared of one horse. The man can’t win.

Imagine if everyone ran scared of Constitution Hill in his hurdling heyday… It would have been a string of walkovers.

Iam not saying he should run in the Cumberland Lodge for sure ,only if the opposition isnt any good . Going into winter quarters unbeaten on flat as a 9 year old could be a first .

He should run at Kempton simply because BCR will be having his first run back since the Coronation Cup on 6th June and also being a prep run for the Arc, he is highly unlikely to be anywhere close to peak race fitness.

Gethin (last seen blowing out in the Eclipse) is now also due to run but given how hard he pull at Sandown going back up in trip would be a concern as to how he will settle at a slower pace but at the end of the day with regards to CH, it will once and for all tell them where they stand with him for future targets.

Pride Of Arras also entered. Ran well behind Item over 1m2f last time and will be fully fit.

The forecasted rain for Windsor arrived and the ground would’ve been perfect for CH. Nicky just saw the competitive field and ran for the hills.

Not a Chance will he want to take on Bay City Roller etc on Saturday but he’s running out of options now.

Maybe Southwell can stage a race just for Nicky and CH with special rules in place to exclude any possible dangerous opposition like last time lol.

Yeah, they should create a new AW series especially for ex-hurdlers that fell four times in a span of five races.

Now how about those soft German G1s? There is one at Munich in November and the ground will be at least very soft. But no, he’d have to leave Lambourn….

Hills have him priced up at 12s their attitude he won’t lay a glove on the main contenders and they are probably correct.

Might end up being the biggest test he has faced in his whole career to date.

This race is a stepping stone for many and as such they will be ready for a run but not fully wound up so there is an opportunity to take advantage of that fact but it might also depend on how fit Hendo has him – not sure why he would leave much to work on as this (or the Windsor race had he run in that) is an acid test for him which will dictate where they go next.

As we have seen before, much bigger priced winners can upset the apple cart so while I think he would be doing well to get within a few lengths of a (probably 80% fit) G1 winning horse, stranger things can (and do) happen.

”Major stables queue up to take on Constitution Hill as September Stakes entries revealed”

That was a Racing Post headline earlier. What an absolute joke. As if George Scott is even giving CH a second thought as he builds towards the Arc with Bay City Roller.

I’ve always been a huge fan of CH but honestly, I’d prefer he was soundly beaten on Saturday if it meant immediate retirement followed. The whole circus around him leaves a bad taste in the mouth and Henderson is largely to blame for that.
