Can’t wait
Taking the day off, hitting the pub with a few mates and enjoying some top quality NH action.
As far as bettings concerned. Battlecry is the NAP for me.

Garde Champetre
November 13, 2008 at 22:34 #189604L’ami is an interesting runner for Bolger in the Cross Country. Won a point for JT at Kilsheelan last month. Garde Champetre did bolt up at the festival last year though and is the one to beat. Puntal is another to watch. Would have given Spot a race last year if Noel Fehily hadn’t got lost!
November 13, 2008 at 22:40 #189606Fantastic racing ahead, tomorrow, and Saturday and Sunday, Sunday in particular.
L’Ami won his point-to-point in Ireland for Bolger, not by far though was it? ? ? Will be interesting to see how he goes in the Cross Country, is a horse i have always liked.
Puntal is interesting though, ran a great race last year, even after taking the wrong course, still finished 3rd.

garde champetre also won at the Punchestown festival with a huge weight and should be spot on with the recent run cant see anyone else winning it, and with nina on board all the better……they should rename the race in honour of Spotthedifference
November 13, 2008 at 22:50 #189609Apart from ruby who else has a chance of getting Top jockey as his price is just a bit to small 4-7 with PP R Thornton is 12-1 not bad that
November 13, 2008 at 22:50 #189610I shall be there & backing these 3 certainties
King Harald – Old favourite
Puntal – As Gaz says, unlucky last year and looks a Pipey plot
Nicholls fav in the last – jumped fantastically 1st time out at Chepstow and any whiff of Evens will be snapped up
November 13, 2008 at 23:03 #189614He only got up by a head Gaz but the front two were 15L clear of the third. Would favour Garde Champetre over him tomorrow unless there’s significant market support. Bolger really excels in this discipline and I would fully expect L’ami to develop into a serious contender for these races under his guidance.
Cannot understand people who feel there’s no place for races like this at Cheltenham. I think its a fantastic spectacle. Also think it provides a good opportunity for punters. Once you get a horse who relishes it you’re laughing. To think Spot went off at odds of 6/1, 4/1, 4/1, 13/8, 5/1, 6/1 and 11/4 in his wins at Cheltenham.

Thank you.
I do like the look of Garde Champetre, i remember it being said that when Kauto Star was bought by Clive Smith, it was a choice between himself and Garde Champetre, so obviously a very talented horse, as we saw last season.
November 14, 2008 at 00:04 #189619Kept trying to back King Harald towards the end of last season but he kept being pulled out of races..any idea what the problem was?
November 14, 2008 at 01:14 #189624Tomorrow’s card looks far from "top quality" or "fantastic" to me.
A cross-country chase, two extremely moderate big-field handicaps and three conditions races with single-figure fields hardly quicken the pulse.
November 14, 2008 at 01:31 #189625Gus – i’d suggest you’re already dead then.

Its Cheltenham though, that makes it good enough.

That’s certainly the attitude Mr Gillespie would like to foster.
November 14, 2008 at 01:45 #189630The stallion parade is the highlight tomorrow, which just about sums the day up.
November 14, 2008 at 01:46 #189631I think Sunday is a fantastic card if you ask me.
Jump racing being back, and back at Cheltenham is enough to get me excited though.
There are some very good horses, especially novices running over the next 3 days at Cheltenham. The Paddy Power race is one i always look forward to, it kind of ‘signifies’ the start of the jumps season for me, and it is absolutely brilliant to have it back in full swing again.
November 14, 2008 at 01:49 #189632Not looked at the decs yet but here we go, 7 months or so of the best racing in the world.
National Hunt racing, nothing else comes close.
