Christmas aside, this is just about my favourite time of year and in a rare show of generosity and excitement – I can be a bit of a miserable b*gger, as many of you know – I will be donating this year’s Tipping Challenge prize.
So, what can you win?
The 2011 Cheltenham Tipping Challenge champion will receive a brand new 8GB iPod Touch, worth approximately £160 (as well as bragging rights, which are priceless). The 4th generation Touch features Apple’s incredible retina display, HD video recording and picture-in-picture messaging.
The rules:
1. Each competitor begins the day with a betting bank of 1000 points.
2. At least one selection must be made in each race.
3. A minimum of 100 points must be staked per race.
4. Both win and each-way selections are permitted.
5. Bets will be settled at SP.
6. One selection may be nominated as a ‘banker’ each day, doubling the return (if any) on that selection.
7. Reserve selections are recommended as, in the event that no reserve is provided to replace a non-runner, returns will be calculated according to the performance of the SP favourite.
8. All selections must be made on this thread by 1pm on the day of racing.
9. Bonus points will be awarded for winners at odds greater than, or equal to, 16/1. Eg: a 20/1 winner will be eligible for a bonus of 20 points.
10. The competitor showing the greatest profit across all four days will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by count-back (most individual winners).I think that just about covers everything, but if you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to ask.

A very generous gesture AJ and one that is worth making the effort for,can i ask is it imperative to have to bet in every race or can you pick and choose accordingly? By the way are you encouraging TAPK to take part?

Selections can be posted any time, Andrew, as long as they’re complete before 1pm on the day of racing (as per rule eight).
I’ve been biddng for one of those on ebay recently, but to no avail!
