Just read through this issue from Racing Post/ Weekender stable and been completely underwhelmed!
I haven’t read it for the last few festivals but can remember when at least some effort was made to unearth decent outsiders. This year the pundits seem to have competed to see who can arrange the 3 likely favourites in the seemliest order! Not only does it throw no extra light on any of the races but it arrived only today when the RP suggested it was going out on Feb 28th!
I normally take the Weekender, which sometimes has a few useful angles but this was piss poor!
Won’t be buying again.March 5, 2025 at 18:14 #1721950I’m glad you said that although not glad for you. I’ve purchased it every year for as long as I can remember but not this year so at least I know I’ve not missed much. The standard has been declining as it has in the Post generally. Always late being delivered, reads like they wrote it in January. Some races barely get a mention. Only really like reading Kealy and PriceWise but they’ve been on so many previews and antepost bits already not to mention the inevitable ones they will do next week each evening and they seem to come up with a new selection each time. I sort of worry for them because I think when Segal in particular retires they won’t have that same following for the tips, possibly not at all.
March 5, 2025 at 18:20 #1721951These guides are absolutely pointless; how they have the temerity to charge £6 for it is beyond me.
Anyone who actually pays for this nonsense needs their head examined.

2025 CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL PREVIEW | Best Bets & Tips | Horse Racing Talk
Watched and listened to the above this afters; two youngish lads, one English, one Irish. Dont know who they are, so excuse my ignorance.
I found it quite informative.
Bang up to date, as well. Think it was only put up this morn.
Loads of stuff on youtube, incl the Racing Tv, Attheraces, main bookies previews.
Yes, you have to cut thru the noise, and sort the wheat from the chaff.March 5, 2025 at 18:27 #1721953My psychotherapist 100% agrees with you, Gladiator.
Unfortunately she’s charged me £600 for that consultation ..March 5, 2025 at 18:28 #1721954My psychotherapist 100% agrees with you, Gladiateur.

I’ve subscribed to their channel for a few years now, Wilts.
Both good lads and they are getting more work with RTV now. Andrew (the Irish one) put up Marine Nationale for the Supreme while the horse was still running in bumpers.

Ah, i thought they might’ve been linked to RTV.
Certainly, pinpointed a few ‘angles’ to mull over, for sure.
I know there’s every Tom, Dick and Harriet on youtube doing racing tips, but the two lads were really concise, informative and made it easy to listen to, and take on board their thoughts.
