Rummy a worthy runner up..what terrific scores you both put in over the last 4 days. Many thanks to Raymo and Tracey ‘of the perfect columns’ for making this such an engaging and enjoyable competition.
Have a lovely trip to Scotland, I love it there but only ever been to Edinburgh twice, a beautiful City Highlight was a day visit to the Royal yacht Brittania at Leith and the Ghost walks.👻😱

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 14, 2025 at 19:21 #1723975Well done Broadsword, fantastic scoring over four days, and a thrilling finish.
Rummy didn’t quite have the stamina to last up the Cheltenham hill, fading into second. Chestnut came with a strong finish to grab third on the podium.Congrats to Tracey (Mrs Raymo) for winning the cakes!!
Huge thank to Raymo and Mrs Raymo for running this competition so efficiently. Very much appreciated! Enjoy your holiday!
March 14, 2025 at 19:26 #1723977Thanks for all the good wishes re the holiday
We are staying at a place called Newtonmore near to Kingussie and not far from Loch Ness. I just hope the weather doesn’t play games with usMarch 14, 2025 at 20:18 #1723983Raymo
High pressure due to set in over the weekend so weather should be pretty good up at Newtonmore, if a little chilly at night. Superb area to visit and enjoy your stay.

Many apologies for being late with my congratulations – have been busy packing (ugh, horrible job), but at least I can now sit down and enjoy my marshmallows with a cup of tea!
Anyway back to more important things.
Congratulations to Broadsword for making that final push and getting up onto that top platform on the podium! I hope you enjoy the book which the powers that be have very kindly donated to this competition.
Commiserations to Red Rum. I really thought you had it in the bag, especially after your brilliant scores on Day 1 and Day 2. It was certainly an exciting competition to watch for us lesser mortals sitting on the sidelines! Give yourself a pat on the back from us.

Finally,
well done to Chestnut for creeping up unexpectedly onto the podium. Your scores have been pretty consistent throughout the week which is amazing in itself given the strange results we have seen at Cheltenham this year.
And last, but not least, thank you to everyone who took part. We have thoroughly enjoyed organising the competition and tallying up the scores for everyone each day. And let’s face it, if it wasn’t for all of you, we wouldn’t have anything to organise. Thank you.
March 14, 2025 at 23:49 #1724002Well done Broadsword and hard luck Rummy, very close between the two of you up the straight.
If you message me your details Broadsword I’ll get the book sent out to you.

Have a great weekend in Scotland. I played golf many years ago at Newtonmore and Kingussie. A glorious part of the world, though I don’t think I’ve ever been wetter!
