Is it too early for a Cheltenham 2022 bet?
Jungle Boogie for the RSA, or whatever it’s called now. Seriously impressive today.
February 14, 2021 at 18:16 #1523066Plenty of markets up G, you should start the thread.
February 14, 2021 at 18:24 #1523069I’ve had a look on Oddschecker, VTC, and he isn’t quoted yet. Reminded me- dare I say it- of a young Carvill’s Hill this afternoon.
Let’s hope that he has more luck with injuries than that great (and I use the word in its proper sense) horse did.
February 15, 2021 at 00:12 #1523119I’ll keep an eye out. Was impressed myself with him, definitely one I’d be interested in long term.
February 16, 2021 at 16:27 #1523308I’m slow off the mark this year, but I’ll certainly be adding more soon.

February 18, 2021 at 17:05 #1523511Thanks Kev, another one for the bin – assumed that would be the case eventually anyway but thought he’d just been scratched from the RSA.
February 18, 2021 at 17:33 #1523514Blankets, this hasn’t been a good year for my ap bets. Most of my punts earlier on this thread are long in the bin too.
This is what I’m left with just now.

Wide Receiver 20/1
Farclas 28/1February 18, 2021 at 22:54 #1523541If you’ve a few points on APT at that price Autumnal then I’m sure it will more than make up for a few in the bin!
I’d say I’m a 6/10 on mine at this stage. Some tasty looking multiples, but they’re not easy to land. Overall probably been slightly more trigger happy than I should’ve been with the singles, you accept a couple that just look crap in hindsight but I’ve probably got a couple more than that!
I’ve added Dame de Compagnie NRNB 12/1 with a Ladbrokes odds boost tonight in the Mares Hurdle. Based on likely non-runners ahead of her in the market (Roksana, Honeysuckle, Elimay) she’s a likely 2nd favourite for this if she goes. Her prep over fences hasn’t gone to plan with being BD LTO, and with JP owning the fav for the Mares Chase there’s a fair chance of her coming here and the race cutting up a bit. NRNB makes it risk free anyway.
Also forgot the state that Chatham Street Lad was in the without Envoi market so edited to reflect that too.

Appreciate it – Supreme – 5/2 (he was my biggest bet of last year’s festival – this may be peanuts to you – but £50 after additional bets due v.profitable festival & ante-post) got burned and held a slight grudge so didn’t back him until he’d proved himself again (at which point the value had gone)Bin

Star GateFebruary 23, 2021 at 22:18 #1524824Blankets thank you for that, I need a bit more luck this year. I’m gutted at Ronald Pump being sidelined, and it’s not looking good for Fury Road.

Farclas 28/1February 24, 2021 at 22:22 #1525244Bob Olinger @25/1
Shishkin @4/1March 1, 2021 at 15:43 #1526161Ive covered Kilcruit 7-4 and Tritonic 100-30 in my portfolio in case the Elliott horses dont go. These 2 will go very short if they dont and i can cash out if they do.
March 1, 2021 at 18:55 #1526203I’ve got 2 accumulators of which only one can come in, both involved a couple of horses that have already won at evens and so need Shiskin, Monkfish and either Kilcruit or Sir Gerhard to win for a cheeky payout.
Best of luck everyone!
March 2, 2021 at 08:22 #1526476What are people’s best bad luck stories from previous ante post Cheltenham bets?
Mine is probably putting £80 e/w on We Have A Dream at 25/1 for the Triumph a few years back, won its next two outings and was around 4/1 if I remember rightly before it got injured a couple of weeks before the festival! It then went on to win the Juvenile G1 at Aintree by about 7 lengths, would have been my biggest ever win if it’d stayed healthy. Just my luck!!!!!!
