I’ve already bet Wiltshire for Haydock, and on the verge of betting him here. Always like an Antepost in this, and just waiting hopefully to get 40’s (unlikely)

If he doesn’t perform at Haydock, then few more on the radar, not least Art Power, but for now attention drawn to Wiltshire

I’ve got 2 horses on my tracker for Saturday, Bucanero Fuerte and Spycatcher.
I don’t think Bucanero will go for this, a travel across the Irish sea to
run on conditions, which he can run on but they are not his favourite. On
the other hand Spycatcher will love the conditions and did well to finish
3rd in it last year having to move a lot to get a run at the end. Well
done Wilts getting the 25s, I’ve had to settle for 20s but I still think
that’s a big price for a horse that has a lot going in his favour.

Spycatcher 20/1 William Hill ( if the Exchange opens bigger than that
I’ll have some of that too)

Pleased to have held off with Wiltshire, as that would’ve been second Antepost loser from him after Haydock

Didn’t plan to jump to anything else, but I’ll go with Art Power. Already bet him a good few times, and expecting a run for my money. Hopefully can beat current 22’s

    Edit – Swerved it

    No Bet

MONTASSIB arguably better on soft so the Haydock sprint win can be marked up, taken 5-1 money back if top 5.

Think ill stick with kinross, trainer/jockey combo flying, in much better form now than previously in the season, gets his ground, found out last season by art power, which i dont think will happen again, will probably cover AP just incase

Scared of Kinross on this ground but he’s drawn high and I think low is the place to be so it’s Montassib at 6s.

This is as bad as a big handicap, so open.

    Those I’ve backed are:

Kinross for Kimpton. Seems best at this time of year and (at this trip) on soft ground and stable in cracking form. Just hope he doesn’t idle in front…

And five from the Sprint Cup…

Kind Of Blue hasn’t yet run on soft ground, but both his relatives The Tin Man and Deacon Blues acted well on it… And both progressed with age.

Elite Status looked a top class performer in the making in a lesser grade. On the face of it disappointed behind Montassib and Kind Of Blue, but raced on the wrong side there and raced prominently in a race where the principles came from the back. If this race favours a prominent runner it is imo most likely to be him.

Swingalong backed for similar reasons. July Cup form gives him a good chance, though is less likely to improve than EL.

Unequal Love couldn’t get through at a crucial stage. Finished fastest of all but ran out of time. Ascot is a stiffer track than Haydock, plus the soft ground places a stiffer test on stamina. That said, not absolutely certain to act on it though is proven on good-soft.

Saved on Montassib. Could say he had the run of the race at Haydock but that was goodish ground and had seemed best on very soft. May well improve further.
