There wasn’t much beautiful football from Barcelona last night, they’re hot and cold, Arsenal looked better to me and they’re more hot than cold. (more consistent).
I want to see the four English sides in the semi’s if possible.
March 5, 2008 at 20:48 #148671Thirty seconds of Barcelona, Arsenal or Man Utd at their best ressurects your faith in the possiblities of the game. Chelsea’s problem is that they have too many English players. Get Terry, Lampard and the little gnome Cole out of there and they might be worth watching.
March 6, 2008 at 09:47 #148726Real Madrid were poor against Roma. Surprisingly poor. A few of their players didn’t seem up for the fight against the resolute and determined Romans.

April 2, 2008 at 08:03 #155066Advantage Man Utd I’d say.
A breeze for them last night in a very impressive win, while my previous favourites (Barca) stumble to a scrappy 1-0 win. If Man Utd can keep their big guns fit, then I’m changing my mind and going for them.
Tonight from a betting point of view I fancy the same to happen as did last night – 2 away wins.
April 2, 2008 at 08:28 #155067Can’t see Liverpool beating Arsenal tonight. Draw maybe but that’s about it.
April 2, 2008 at 12:43 #155140Over the two legs i think Liverpool will come out on top, which could lead to another couple of games of chess vs Chelsea.

Hope not on both counts.
I think Arsenal may be a better side on the break and look for them to get to the final where they will (I fear) lose to the detestable Man Utd.April 4, 2008 at 08:10 #155711Barcelona v Chelsea final for me.

That’d be nice

Crazy to think that both them will probably sack their manager at seasons end.

A European Night at Anfield their can only be one winner

Danny after watching the game today i think and hope the longer Arsenal go without scoring an away goal at Anfield the more players they will throw forward leaving space for Torres and Gerrard.

April 9, 2008 at 02:03 #156973One of the best games of football you’ll ever see and a superb win for the mighty Red Men. It had absolutely everything – quick passing, end-to-end attacking, goals, a stunning strike from god himself, a brilliant run from Walcott and a penalty at the Kop end…simply unbelievable.
We can now have the possible satisfaction of lifting a 6th European Cup having beaten Arsenal in the quarters, Chelsea in the semis and United in the final!
April 9, 2008 at 13:27 #157042Chelsea have the players who can stifle Liverpool over the two legs. They are less cavalier, more disciplined and certainly more robust than Arsenal.
I take Chelsea to progress to their first ever Champions League final.

April 9, 2008 at 16:44 #157107Nasty penalty decision. Not good….
Another dubious route to glory seems to be in place again….
Im a Chelsea man so bound to be biased, but i think we will batter them. There is a strong dislike of Liverpool right around the club and (unusually for some rivalries) this applies on and off the pitch.
As for all this Anfield crap…it was the quietest away ground i visited in my tarvelling days. Bar Cambridge united perhaps… Everton were far more "up for it"
As for Arsenal…they have spent too much time reading their own publicity and are so up themselves it has come as a complete shock that other teams actaully compete

Oh could not agree more..I can’t wait to knock the smiles off ’em.
Only thing is I just don’t see Chelsea getting much from the Away trip. Refs can’t handle it as we saw last night….

Just thought id remind you Chelsea fans about the game at Anfield in the league this season, Liverpool were leading 1 – 0 when Chelsea where given a very "dubious" penalty which allowed them to take a point away from Anfield.
Im confident Liverpool will advance to the final having beaten Chelsea in 05 ( The ball was miles over the line
) and 07.PS: For what its worth i want and hope Chelsea will win the league
