    Altior 8/1
Henderson saying he is over his troubles and thinks he’ll be back to his best this year
    worth a chance at 8/1.??

When you look at the other horses in the market it does seem a generous price

Yes he is getting on but there really aren’t many young improvers coming through if he even retains the ability he showed at Newbury when going past sceau royal and dynamite dollars like they were standing still

If he gets to the race he won’t be bigger than 4/1

If he wins the tingle creek that 8/1 could look huge

But I’m a big fan and this could very well be my heart talking not my head

I have a speculative ew on Rouge Vif 20-1 at the minute. He was good the other day but doesn’t want soft ground which makes things a bit tricky. Chacun Pour Soi the most likely winner if he turns up but if he don’t its anybodys.

Altior to win the tingle creek and champion chase is 25/1 with skybet

Think I have a £5 free bet on there that seems a good bet to me

💯 like you say if he wins the Tingle creek he’ll more than likely shorten for the CC

My thinking is he won’t win this if he loses the tingle creek

He’ll either win both or neither

So may as well take the 25s not the 8s

Altior @ 25/1 to win both the TC and QMCC seems like the right bet.

Re Rouge Vif, Fusil Raffles ran a quicker time than him last week. Just saying as the mass hysteria on ITV post win could lead people to believe that was a lot better than it was. He’s got his ground and beat an average lot in a seasonal renewal in a normal time. 20/1 wouldn’t interest me.

I don’t get hysterical myself Charlie. Its a let’s see at the minute. As regards to the time, somewhat irrelevant coz Rouge Vif won in second gear.

I watched the ATR NH previews with Barry Geraghty, Matt Chapman and Kevin Blake. Bazza was more excited about Defi than he was Altior. Quite possible Altior will show his age now in his races at the top table.

Altior could still have a soft preparation including an easier Tingle Creek, if the Irish stay away.

Thats not surprising given his connection to defi

The way he was talking i think defi is his favourite horse

Id love to see defi in the ryanair myself

Bazza getting more excited about a horse he’s won on at the Festival vs a will be 11 year old that he doesn’t ride is not news, nor is it informative.

Altior now falls in that age bracket where all we’ll do is chart is his decline – fair enough as he won’t be improving – but look through the 11 & 12 year olds that have won this before – he’s easily good enough at 80% to beat the vast majority of current 2 milers out there.

Even if Altior isn’t the force of old, you’d have thought he’s a thieving eachway bet at the current prices. Can be on the decline and still good enough to place, and you’ve got a favourite who could fall to pieces at any moment.

Similar argument for Politologue, imagine he wins again if given another soft lead which suits his best attribute (jumping) so well.

Would happily back either right now.

Willie has given him a favourable mention, looks like unfinished business. Chacun Pour Soi 5-1.

    Hes the likely winner mike

But id rather back him at 2/1 on the day than 5s antepost myself given how injury prone he is

Happy with this bet going forward, its 14/1 now
