Entries…………
https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/38/newmarket/2026-09-26/925900/
Market still to appear, but unlikely I’ll look to play too early, as I’ve managed to watch this twice in the last few years without a bet on the day
The most obvious one at this stage for me would be Crown of Oaks, but the flip of that is that he wouldn’t fit the bill of what I normally look at, and he’ll surely have plenty of options
Mr Professor is another interesting one, as are the McGuiness pair, Johnny Soda, and Pierre Royal, but both entered up in The Irish equivalent.
The Goldie pair of Salam Dubawi and Dwindling Funds are interesting, and although Gosden has his usual numerous entries in this, I thought Gavriel an interesting sort
No intention of having a bet for now, but if to whittle down a couple for the top of the shortlist, it would be………
Dwindling Funds
Gavriel
Hard Endeavour
Salam DubawiSeptember 24, 2026 at 14:00 #1776045Bit surprised to find this on page 4 but thanks to VtC’s big race checker, I found it!
Now the draw is out, I’ve gone for one drawn low, with decent recent form and a previous good showing over 1m 2 in the John Smith’s Cup…
Spell Master, with de Sousa booked, will do me at 33-1 ew 5.September 24, 2026 at 14:54 #1776050Pathien 12s 6 places
September 24, 2026 at 18:19 #1776062Almost yet another year without a bet in this, just seems lacking in real interest in recent years
I’ll stick to original shortlist, with the exception of Gavrial. Nice double figures at the time. Not now
I’ll go with Hard Endeavour for win purposes, and though Goldie has Altareq in there, I’ll go with the pair from the early shortlist EW
Tentative selections for sure and not going mad
Dwindling Funds EW 7Pls
Hard Endeavour 28’s
Salam Dubawi 80’s EW 6PlsSeptember 24, 2026 at 18:33 #1776065I’ve taken one from each side of the track e/w 6pl: Erzindjan at 11s and Alcarath at 20s.
September 24, 2026 at 19:02 #1776070Unlike Glad both my eggs are in the low draw basket – Zennor Storm 28-1;ew 5
September 24, 2026 at 19:04 #1776071D’oh – misread your post (watching TV at the same time), so duly edited.
😂
September 25, 2026 at 11:06 #1776092Been studying up on this since Wednesday and now have it down to a shortlist of 8 that I hope will include the winner and a few places.
Have got it down to a likrly 4 but it’s difficult and
I am there on Saturday so possibly some negs in parade ring and looking forward to seeing Gavriel in the flesh.
he could be very special. My shortlist so far … Majority of the pace seems to be mainly on the near side (high)..but want to have 2 x high 2 x low/middle ideally.
INDALO (26) Unlucky 2nd last year to top weight Boiling Point better draw this year
ERZINDJAN (23) – 4th last year Billy the kid rides.
GAVRIEL (28) – Could be a Group Horse but doesn’t want ground to firm. Gosden top trainer for this race.
HARD ENDEAVOR (8) – Form with Indalo. Comes off better at weights Shrewd trainer.
ST. ANTON (17) – Has beaten useful Moonfall and goes well at Newmarket.
ALCARETH (1) – Would definitely put him in for a low drawn horse, Ross Ryan up Oisin Murphy rode last time out.
PAROLE D’ORO (23) – Thanks to 7lb allowance Jack Nicholls he carries just 8st:3lbs he.needs luck as beaten by a few of these in past races.. but nice possible EW.
ZENNOR STORM (6) – Nice 3rd to course specialist Hickory at Ascot last time out with Hard Endeavor and Spanish Voice well held in 5th and 8th.Working on getting that list down to 4 and it’s not easy. Gavriel could just scoot home but still some nice places to be had. I think I’m favouring..
INDALO
ERZINDJAN
ALCARETH
ST.ANTONAll EW (6 Places)
Looking forward to this one.
Good luck
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 25, 2026 at 14:05 #1776098Gavriel ew 5 places & Erzindjan ew 5 places
September 25, 2026 at 14:45 #1776101Urban Lion 50s each way (1st 6)
Asmen Warrior 28s win only
👍September 25, 2026 at 17:01 #1776104To cement my blind conviction that the bookies are going for the wrong side, I’ve rowed in with VtC on Salam Dubawi at 80-1 ew 5.
September 25, 2026 at 17:15 #1776105Shafdar 20s and Hard Endervour 18s both e/w 6 places.
Did anyone else notice the Norwegien was jocked up on Shafdar earlier in the week, then was on the Ed Dunlop horse after final Dec’s. Now thats a NR, hes back on Shafdar..hmmSeptember 25, 2026 at 21:02 #1776122Gavriele
Thunder RunVF x
September 25, 2026 at 23:19 #1776128HAND OF GOD – 9/1 – EW
(draw 24) (Churchill)Looked at a few of his races especially his Grouo 3 run at York against Raammee where he had nowhere to go snd flew at the finish
ST. ANTON- 25/1 – EW
(Draw 17) (Mehmas)Richard Hannon’s only runner and he loves Newmarket. Has beaten the useful Moonfall st HQ so chances at a decent price.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...September 26, 2026 at 10:20 #1776159I’ve went for two in this. St Anton at 33-1 win is actually the more sensible one, while I’ve taken 150-1 ew to 6 pls on Wanderlust – and also 200-1 too
September 26, 2026 at 11:41 #1776183Hard Endeavor 25-1.
The more I know the less I understand.
September 26, 2026 at 11:55 #1776191Hand of god ew
Harmonics ew both six places 10s and 14s just the 5 places -
