I’ve been tinkering recently with a version of this, with the following parameters: –
1. National Hunt only
2. Horse finished 2nd LTO
3. LTO within last 30 days
4. In first three in Racing Post opening price market
5. Top-rated in Racing Post (including joint top)Using those parameters, my run of results in the last ten days has been this: –
Fell
Won 9-2
Won 6-1
4th
Won 7-2
Won 4-1
12th
Won 13-8
7th and Won 10-3 (two selections in same race)
4th
4th
Unseated
Won 9-2
2nd
Unseated
2nd
Won 9-4
3rdFollowing this system, for an outlay of £180 (£10 bet per race, two £5 bets on the race with two selections), I now have £360.41 in my hand, so I’ve doubled my money, but: –
1. I have no idea whether I’m simply on a lucky streak and
2. You never know from day to day whether any, and if so how many, horses will fit the parameters.Still, results so far have been encouraging.
Kind Regards,
Brian

February 4, 2008 at 04:19 #139999I would say 99% sure it’s going through a purple patch.Could be a small profit in it long term.

I think you are enjoying a good run at the moment. From my own experience, this type of system will not be profitable in the long term.
However, as I always maintain, most people are betting for enjoyment and I’m sure you could do a lot worse than follow this fairly easy to operate set of rules. There is some logic in the method. You are directed towards well fancied horses with recent form and overall form good enough to win the race – a mixture of favs and 2nd favs mostly.
Keep us up to date on your progress. You never know, you might make me eat my earlier words. Good luck with it.
