The problem isn’t form. Most of the races highlighted here had outcomes that appeared pretty formful from where I’m standing.

The problem is connections wanting an endless number of shies at the coconut in terms of getting a decent bet down at the wrong price. Racecards are being turned into toilet paper as a result.

Put up a spoof lay and get your bluff called – sorry I only wanted to be a net backer and, erm, the horse is cast in it’s box.

Actually get a bet down on an opponent at a fair price, and then an unforunate accident to your horse makes it an unfair price (in your favour) when it can’t run.

The race Ricky highlights had a horse called Addikt entered in it. It was apparently coughing today. Like most of these sort of horses the ailment didn’t come to the trainer’s attention until lunchtime. He must be the most sickness prone horse in training, as he seems to be entered up in the first at Kempton every Wednesday night but is only actually sighted on the racetrack a handful of times a year.

You’re wasting your breath, why complicate matters with facts. It’s a good job the big race at Cheltenham last week wasn’t fought out by horses that were c20lbs wrong, there would have been uproar!

Firstly the Curley affair…I laud the sheer logistical genious and planning it was and is a work of art , you have to admire the coup given the tech advances / early warning systems the bookies have, plus it highligted the real flaws in the present day handicapping system …game set and match to Barney

Secondly ..the AW instance of following the money is pretty much cast iron now , horses with very little obvious chance bolt up after heavy support ….great if you follow the cash

However my point is simple ….how much longer will the bookies be prepared to put up with that ??? common sense says not long , the AW is now seen as a lottery , Joe punter is watching , how much longer will he and his missus bet on it ???

Curley gained notoriety in winning with four horses on the same day, an achievement of some magnitude it has to said. The fact is most trainers content themselves with just one generously priced winner every once in a while. It’s all about deceiving the average racing fan, that’s us, unless you are well connected.
