After reading Cav’s mention of these books I have since obtained copies and written a review of them which you’ll find here –

This is a great review I bought the books after Cav’s recommendation, and your thoughts very much reflect my own. They are a staggering achievement for a single person.

Sadly I don’t believe there is anything out there that provides the comprehensive printed record of each racing season that the Timeform annuals did. These books come by far the closest that I’ve seen, but I’d still be interested in other recommendations people have, especially for the Jumps.

None of this is to detract from Dr McGee’s brilliant books though, which I would also want to buy even if the Timeform annuals still existed.
