Happy Retirement Gweeds 💕
This weekend Craig at Lamont Racing and I have made the decision to retire Gweedore from racing.
He bows out with 13 wins, 11 seconds, 6 thirds and over £200k in prize money to his name.
He has been a huge part of our story so far and helped put us on the map with our first ever winner on itv, further wins on itv, a huge run in the Ayr Gold Cup and our first ever runner and winner at HQ.
This season he has loved his training but hasn’t brought his spark to the races so its an easy decision for us to make and he will have some time to chill out and potentially look to do some riding club and happy hacking.
His loyal owners at Lamont Racing have had a fantastic time with lots of happy memories made. It’s a huge thanks to Craig and team for allowing us the privilege of having him in our wee yard.
Gweedore was so tough in his races, his never say die attitude on the track earning him lots of interest and fans. At home however, he is a very sensitive soul, he loves a fuss and being spoiled like the champ he is.
A massive thanks to all who have contributed to his long and happy career, all the team at the yard and particularly Abby who has done so much with him over the years.
Musselburgh Racecourse have so kindly planned a celebration for him at their last meeting this year and we look forwards to enjoying that.
Cheers for the memories big man 💕
