I know some of you are racing professionals but crikey – the idea that everyone thinks they know the derby winner (in a tricky derby imo) has all the hallmarks of mug gamblers, i.e. "i am sure I know the winner" (before the race)!
Or confident fools. Not sure if that’s a synonym or not though.
