VF x
February 8, 2022 at 13:49 #1582091Jpr One is my selection here at a paltry 5-1.
February 8, 2022 at 15:37 #1582105I’m already on Broomfield Burg at 10-1, with no plans to bet anymore.

February 10, 2022 at 12:28 #1582338The 2M hurdle division is diabolical, not detracting from Honeysuckle being unbeaten but its literally her getting weight from horses rated a stone below her. The juveniles don’t progress – see Goshen and numerous others. The handicappers barely progress save for maybe Tommys Oscar this year but most years he’d still be a rank outsider not a genuine place contender. There isn’t a UK trained horse who will run over hurdles over 2M rated above 160 is there? Thats not championship level racing.
This race sums up the division basically, a few horses unexposed for obvious connections but none of them are standout Supreme or Ballymore prospects they are just well handicapped because they are novices and havent tackled handicaps. The Constitution Hills of this woorld will be in the Arkle next year I guarentee it. Connections dont care aabout hurdling its just a step to chasing.
Epatante could have run in this off top weight she’s only 153 but they’d be mad to because she can beat the likes of Soaring Glory in a G1 but getting 7lbs instead of giving 6lbs.
I hate ranting but I’m struggling to be excited about this, its normally part of ‘super Saturday’ but the field sizes are appalling again.
February 10, 2022 at 18:20 #1582430Have to agree. There is a blatant niche in the market to breed proper 2 mile hurdlers and chasers. The problem is the super rich, which you need to be to own a horse in National Hunt racing these days never mind the flat, are only interested in slow plodders. Gold Cup or nothing attitude is reducing the speed and talent in race horses. In my opinion of course!
February 10, 2022 at 19:26 #1582459For the win, it’s Jpr One, and I’ll have an ew on Glory and Fortune

Agree Tin Man. I was going to post the same thing.
A race worth £85,000 to the winner and it attracts a field of 14 uninspiring horses and does not even reach its maximum field. Then owners complain about poor prize money.
But the less valuable County Hurdle could fill two or three times, just because it is Cheltenham.
February 11, 2022 at 16:19 #1582624Normally dip out of ‘The Schweppes’ because it’s unfathomably complicated but this renewal is uninspiring to say the least.
155 Broomfield Burg
155 Royaume Uni
154 Soaring Glory
153 Lord Baddesley
151 Boothill
150 Glory And Fortune
150 JPR OneTop two give me the likely favourite and an interesting outsider. I’ll stick with those two, a shilling on each and a 6d reverse forecast! Now where are Rosyth and Hill House???
February 11, 2022 at 22:58 #1582723Glory and Fortune for me, but strictly an ew punt for me 14-1 ew and that’s with 5pls
February 12, 2022 at 00:27 #1582737What a horrendous turnout, no bet for me, they really need to start making changes, will be lucky to have 8 next year at this rate
February 12, 2022 at 10:07 #1582783Stuck with Fifty ball esp with the yard going well e.w , win only Brookfield burg could well be a JP plot job esp with Cheltenham in mind , he,s a worthy fav , Inc rev forecast
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 12, 2022 at 10:35 #1582790My ew 2, 5 places…
Broomfield Burg 17-2
JPR One 13-2 bogFebruary 12, 2022 at 10:47 #1582794Broomfield Burg is the likely winner but is priced up defensively now.
Backed Boothill at 17/2 and Fifty Ball at 22/1.
February 12, 2022 at 10:52 #1582798I really like the look of JPR One but think he might be one for another half mile and fences. I’ve gone with Royaume Uni ew in the hope that being a Galileo he’ll like the decent ground.
February 12, 2022 at 15:25 #1582846I like Jetoile here. Very decent run at Cheltenham before winning two novice races easily. His second place behind Constitution Hill in the Tolworth doesn’t look too bad either. Should have a decent chance of 133.
Jetoile 11/1 EW
February 12, 2022 at 15:41 #1582849Wd war. Wd winners.
February 12, 2022 at 15:42 #1582850Great early call Lemons with that one, well done also Jeff, Botch, and Roses
