33/1 winner, with placed runners at 16, 66, 50 and 25. Think it is safe to say the bookies had a bit of a result.
February 8, 2020 at 16:14 #1482430Cheers Green
February 8, 2020 at 16:46 #1482434Can’t believe I left out Pic D’Orhy. His French G1/G2 form is rock solid. He had no chance 1st time out in the Triumph and then he fell in France. I just couldn’t fancy him after his last effort at Ascot, but at 33s you always have to take a closer look at a Paul Nichols horse.
It’s just poor after timing, but he wasn’t impossible to back.
February 8, 2020 at 17:03 #1482438Well done BigG
Bit of a farce, though. A few horses turned and lost their positions at the start because most refused to move
February 8, 2020 at 17:09 #1482439Mark, I see two problem for the Betfair hurdle: 24-runners is simple too much given how narrow the flights are AND the run to the first hurdle is just too short. Given them an additional 50 yards or so on the run to the first and make the flights 10-15 feet wider.
OR reduce the field to 16-18 runners.
February 8, 2020 at 17:14 #1482440Thanks Mark. You’re right it was a bit of a farce, I think the starters are too picky at times,
this was one of them. I noticed that Remiluc kept out wide at the start, so he had no horses round
about him and jumped off well. Quite a few hard luck stories in it, but there always are in races
of this nature.February 8, 2020 at 19:35 #1482450Nice shout BigG, just a few yards too much, but still a nice result.
Not so Sleepy never really got involved once he was forced to the back of the field.
February 8, 2020 at 20:14 #1482452It was pretty baffling the starter didnt let them go
They didnt look to be going that fast at all
February 8, 2020 at 21:00 #1482453Great shout Graham, couldn’t have had him on my mind.
February 8, 2020 at 21:00 #1482454FF, didn’t see much wrong myself, strange one.
February 8, 2020 at 21:24 #1482457Did anything come to light with Never Adapt.?

February 8, 2020 at 21:30 #1482459On Racing Post results for Never Adapt it states vet says the mare was lame in left hind, hopefully no long term injury.
February 8, 2020 at 21:38 #1482462Thanks.
