Two 3 year old Grade 1’s to get stuck into (Belmont Derby + Oaks). Racing at the Aquaduck because of ongoing renovations to Belmont Park.
808 – Charles Applebum having a much better time abroad, especially the grade 1 market in the USA, easy turf money.
LEGEND OF TIME won here in a trial in May, needing every yard of the 9 furlongs, the extra 110 yards here should make this an easier assignment. Evens still on offer in places.942 – The Oaks looks very open, in a good way. Plenty to like about quite a few of these so my bet isn’t going to be a big one. The most intriguing one is SECRET SATIRE who was always fancied not to stay at Epsom so forgetting that run and basing her chance on the Musidora form, she looks good value at 7/1. The only two to make any considerable impact that day were Francophone and Classical Song, the former winning next time and the latter not seen since. Lanfranco Dettori (who?) takes the ride, here’s to hoping his inexperience won’t have a negative impact.
Legend Of Time (in a double with City Of Troy for a bot of fun) just over 2/1.
Secret Satire 7/1
