Having a dreadful time of late with being beat the last 5 times I’ve had poket kings!!
Can anyone beat this?
January 9, 2006 at 10:35 #88395Its not as bad, but frustrating all the same. For me it’s pocket Queens. Can’t remember the last hand i’ve won/played to river with these hole cards.
Losing 5 times straight with P-Kings is wretched luck Daylight.
January 9, 2006 at 11:19 #88396QQ I have won with everytime lately but was also on a bad losing streak with them previously. Worse part about it was the 4th pocket kings in a $100,000 MTT I quaified for was sitting 350th of 1,831 and got dealt them, I got someone to bite and was all-in as my stack was getting smaller and needed a double-up. He had 5-6 on suit, nailed on I thought! Finished 384th as he got a 5 & a 6 on the flop and river, bloody game!!
January 9, 2006 at 14:01 #88397The last three times I have had KK, I have run into AA. All on six handed $1/$2 cash tables. Very expensive!
Just as a matter of interest KK v 56 suited is around 75% favourite. So expect to lose one in every four times. And if your KK is up against two players with suited connectors (eg 56 & J10) you are only just over 50% to win!
January 15, 2006 at 01:42 #88398The lady has took pity on me tonight as I’ve had a few tourneys and won 3/3 with KK, 2/3 AA & beat someones AA with my 66 pre-flop. Swings in roundabouts I suppose.
January 18, 2006 at 17:30 #88399My last pocket KK was beaten by pocket AA so my sympathies DL
January 19, 2006 at 14:05 #88404Correct flagship,
Only one way, IMVHO, to play KK but you’ve got to be prepared to let ’em go if the board shows signs of danger – and not just a bullet.
Not quite the same I know but did anybody see Helmuth’s laydown in the main event at this year’s WPT.
Holding AK, with a flop of AA4, and he folds to an all-in re-raise.
Opponent had A4.
I know he prides himself on reading other players and is in a no lose situation with regards to his reputation but still I dont think I could have done that even with my tournament life on the line.
Although given hindsight what else could he really have put him on other than pocket 4’s, in which case he’s still behind.
Incidentally, first time I ever played a live casino MTT I was dealt AA on the button and thought it was christmas.
Small but pot size bet with plenty of callers.
Flop showed Kxx.
Checked round to me so typical continuity bet, only to be put all in.
Guessed I was behind to two pair but rebuy period so wtf ?.
Guy was holding KK :o
Nearly put me off for life

January 22, 2006 at 22:24 #88406Played in the William Hill Half Million tonight (a mere $48,000 to the winner). Opponent went all in, I had AA so obviously had to call, he showed AQ and proceeded to flop 10 J K :banghead:
February 7, 2006 at 21:53 #88407Playing in our first TRF tourney I was all-in with 2 others holding KK, other 2 had 99 + QA.
Flop: 10 K J, 8, 7
This was THE defining hand of the tourney for me I thought as all 3 of us had 13,000 chips in the pot of the 6 left from 20, whoever won this hand was massively odds-on favorite to win!!
