    A good effort against a not so good field-puts him in a 3 way tie for 13th in the Kentucky Derby Graded Stakes earnings list-with the now American trained Radiohead in 16th spot.

    Wood Memorial on Easter Saturday should be next for Awesome Act.

    My long shot for the Derby is Odysseus who runs in the Tampa Derby on the 13th

    Unfortunately the Gotham doesn’t have the best record when it comes to producing KY Derby winners-the last Gotham winner to win the Derby was Easy Goer, and before that Secretariat. We’ll see how Awesome Act stacks up with a halfway decent field in the Wood.

    That widely derided 2009 Dewhurst is starting to look a little tasty now.
