Nearly at the end of April and tomorrow we have 3 aw cards…why oh why oh why???

Why not have a turf card from north england or Scotland?

I think we should applaud the BHB for predicting the effects of global warming. It now seems obvious that from 2015 onwards nine out of ten turf meetings will be abandoned because of hard going (which, coincidentally, is when Great Leighs will stage thir opening fixture).
Ghost,

There’s a very simple answer to your question – it’s because none of the northern tracks applied for a fixture tomorrow. They all had the option when the fixture list was open for bids this time last year.

Why should AW racing be restricted to Winter only?

Some horses like the track, why discriminate against those who prefer the all-weather strictly on the grounds of time of year.

I know it’s not a popular viewpoint on racing forums but I enjoy the all-weather as long as it’s of a suitable quality.

IS, I think it’s more the fact that there are THREE A.W. meetings tomorrow that has got Ghosty’s goat.

I agree that A.W. has it’s place, but is it really necessary to have one every single day, and two on many days? There is only one four-legged animal ridden by small people on the beach, and it isn’t generally the horse!

Whole fixture list is a mess this year and someone needs to get a grip on it

We have Sandown and Kempton (the two closest courses geographically …ok Newmarket then, anoraks) racing on same afternoons and then nothing across whole south of england on Bank holidays

Agree with Irish about AW. Its here and i have no problem with it at all

I’d try and replace the rubbish we have at Brighton and Folkestone and Carlisle on the flat with good AW racing – saying that i’d be a lot more skint and there’d be no races for my old filly either :(

Quote: from Grasshopper on 6:40 pm on April 30, 2007[br]Conversely, I disagree with irish, empty, friggo and clivex, and think AW racing is unadulterated sh*ite that should be consigned to the scrapheap forthwith, to be replaced by a diet of summer plating chases from Strattie and Hexham.
Oh wait, you never said anything about replacing it with jumps…

Load of pi$h reserved for cart-pullers and straw hat-wearing nanny goats in that case! ;)

Racing surface is artificial, the racing is exactly the same as on Turf
