I can’t minimise my smartphone so that why not in depth preview
ALEXANDER ZVEREV 4/1 Mens
JANNICK SINNER 30/1IGA SWITEK 16/1
VICTORIA AZARENKA 33/1. Women’sJanuary 17, 2022 at 10:51 #1578460I think Braveheart has a very good chance of progressing from his first round tie.
He is 2/0 in head to heads with his opponent and 3/1 or straight sets very doable.
Go Andy Murray!!January 17, 2022 at 15:31 #1578491I’m with you on that Sam, although I was a bit slow
off the mark and had to settle for 12/5.I know it won’t happen, but for a bit of fun I
have taken Andy at 80/1 e/w. I couldn’t bear it
if he got through the 1st 2 or 3 matches and I’d
be hoping a miracle just might happen and I’d be
kicking myself for not chancing a few quidJanuary 18, 2022 at 06:35 #1578560Currently 2/1 to Murray
Looks like a five setter.
Either player can win this
Murray
Is 3/1 to win 3/2
His opponent is 100/30 to do the same.
Both options taken.
I’d rather Murray settled this now.
A tie break in this set looks likely too.January 18, 2022 at 07:29 #1578561This is better than the fare we’ve had to endure in Oz for the last six weeks or so.
Bet landed
Tie break paid out.
Either player to win fifth set landed.
Dan Evans had just won his opening set too.
Murray has a real chance here because this Guy has an error strewn game.
He could have taken the fourth set with ease but played the line when he had the whole court at his mercy many times.
This may tell in Murrays favour and I take his experience to close this match out to his service.January 18, 2022 at 07:32 #1578562Any player watching this will realise Murray wilts around fourth set and relies on the fifth.
Murray about to go two up to close this match out with his service.
What can go wrong…….January 18, 2022 at 07:58 #1578564Back to four four!!
From 1-4 down.
Here we go again.
Come on Murray.
Really under the cosh again…
Hopefully he can draw on his experience of five setters, because no player at this level has that.January 18, 2022 at 08:01 #1578566Nikoloz Basilashvili serving to save the match
4/5January 18, 2022 at 08:05 #1578567Braveheart
I salute you!!
Get here earlier next time and bring a cricket bat.January 18, 2022 at 10:35 #1578572Well done Sam, I woke to catch the 4th and final set,
then pulled the duvet back up and went back to sleep. The one thing about Murray is that he always puts you through
the wringer. If there’s a hard way to do it he’ll find it
but you’ve gotta love the guy, he’s all guts. There’s not many guys
would come back from the hip operation he had.I don’t know who long he can last in this, but my forlorn 80/1 hope
carries onJanuary 18, 2022 at 10:53 #1578575He is certainly playing the percentages well.
Not many could have got that result in those circumstances.
EMMA RADICANU to serve 3+ aces in the 1st set is my next play @ 8/1.This is a tough tough assignment for her, Last spring she was playing in a minor tournament on the Suffolk coast. Now she is one of the biggest sports stars on the planet. Wether she gets through here today is totally irrelevant.
Sadly should she lose today, every section of the media will be on her case. Yet a defeat would be no great shakes in reality.
A win would just be good for her right now to keep the wolves at bay…January 18, 2022 at 11:29 #15785786/0 to Emma in 17 minutes.
Pay up bookiesThere was no time to serve three aces. But they were still offering 6/5 to win 6/0 when she was 4/0 up having dropped just THREE points
Thank you.January 18, 2022 at 11:30 #1578579I think someone has been impersonating Raducanu since the Us Open. The real Emma has just strolled off Ashe on to Margaret Court to demolish Slam winner Sloane Stephens 6-0 in the first set.
BUY THE SUN
January 18, 2022 at 14:11 #1578594That was comprehensive and getting into a game and dropping a set was the best thing for her.
Great win and I wonder what the captain thinks now following his Wimbledon comments.
Brilliant stuff and she is in the right half of the draw.January 18, 2022 at 15:30 #1578610Yeah, excellent stuff wasn’t it Sam. Stephens doesn’t half leather the thing off both wings. Great win against a nightmare 1st round draw.
BUY THE SUN
January 20, 2022 at 12:52 #1578867She couldn’t get through her tie today, which is a pity as the draw had looked laid out for her.
She is getting all of her experience at the grand prix level which is pretty hard going. Halep and Barty are another level.
Medvev had fun and games earlier against Nick who has turned into court jester and spectator’s favourite from enfant terrible.
Two day turnaround a bridge too far for Andy Murray.January 25, 2022 at 09:25 #1579807I’m on ash Barty to win this morning and be highest ace scorer with least double faults.
She is 3/0 up in games and a set up.
I’m sweating on the double faults as she is down. A mile clear on aces.
Matteo Berrettini vs. Gael Monfils
The Italian is 2/0 in head to heads and this match is on a knife edge.
I’m expecting a very tight game with favour towards the younger player who has a massive service game. If he wins the toss and opens then Berrettini can take the opener. By the same token Monfils can ensure the sets goes to service.
Either way l expect both players to take a set. -
