At The Races is not likely to broadcast Irish Horse Racing in HD until 2019 as SIS do not have the necessary cables installed in the irish tracks.
As the articles states ATR have to renegotiate the irish tv deal again this year and not broadcasting in HD is now a major issue as a tv channel in 2016 cannot continue to show the pictures in the quality ATR currently does.

January 11, 2017 at 18:35 #1281472The camera work is from Racetech in the UK i would imagine and ARC own cameramen and the irish equivalent.
The main thing that bugs me with ATR is the on course audio, when watching a race there is no cheering noise from the crowd towards the end , watch back Leopardstown at the xmas festival or Doncaster on St Leger day it was a full house but would think its empty watching it on ATR. Watch a race on RUK and the audio quality is night and day.
RUK from a production standpoint is miles clear of ATR from on screen graphics to race preview videos etc.
Surely SIS as the production company for ATR can do much better than what is currently being put out and the fact that ATR in 2017 cant broadcast in HD is ridiculous. RUK just seem to beat them to the punch all the time.
