After failing again with the placepot and seeing that it paid £500 odd quid I am going to have a rethink for tomorrow. What strategy does everyone use for the placepot. Is there a place banker for tomorrow because I can’t see one.
3 of the races look horrible as well; help desperately needed; I’ll show you mine if you show me yours;) .
July 28, 2006 at 20:05 #74297I am thinking of putting Dabbers Ridge in my e/w bets. Oh and its okay I dont want to see yours, I’m confused enough.<br>
July 28, 2006 at 22:41 #74298I’ve got that race down to 6 for the placepot Dave;)
July 28, 2006 at 23:53 #74299I’d bank this one, FSL, and that’s Mine.
I’m not MJ Kinane’s greatest fan, (he cost me a fortune when he contrived to get Statue of Liberty beaten in the Sussex a few years back), but he has some choice rides later today.
Mine was mighty impressive in the Bunbury, is a well drawn specialist at the trip, who loves Ascot. Simple enough. (He says!)
July 28, 2006 at 23:53 #74300What effect does pricewise have on the placepot? The two in the international stakes he’s gone for were going to be two of mine but mug punters will pile into them for their placepot will they?
July 28, 2006 at 23:58 #74301What has he gone for, FSL?
July 29, 2006 at 00:02 #74302I never use anymore than 64 bets in the placepot and I tend to keep them to small stakes, I landed the Thirsk one today…
<br>see my website for details :)

July 29, 2006 at 00:58 #74303Pricewise has gone for Mine and Dabbers Ridge in the big handicap:( , Hearts Cry in the KG and Steel Blue in the 3:15 at York.
I’ve decided Armigerent is my banker for the placepot because he’s proven over the distance, is from in form stable that is +93pts to level stakes at Ascot, ground should be fine and has the best form. If this does not place i will be fit to explode. My placepot is lined up as so:
4x1x2x5x2x4
I don’t want to take any chances in the big handicaps or the tricky looking 2yo race. If anyone can save me money here post/pm me beofre 9:30 as I’ve got a shift at Ladbrokes (today) while 3:30.
Maxilon Mine is in my placepot for that race – 2,5,9,13,17. I’m not totally convinced it will place though becuase it needs look in running, may not run two good races in a row and every other bugger will be on him.:o
July 29, 2006 at 01:01 #74304btw Jim I looked on your website but couldn’t find anything related to placepots; perhaps you could give me a link?
July 29, 2006 at 13:08 #74305Had 2nd, 3rd and 4th favs in first race, out already!
Quadpot!
July 29, 2006 at 13:22 #74306Sorry – only just seen this!
Played 48 x 10p lines – just in case you are interested in taking these into account for your Quadpot, my perm was…
2:00 – Mo, Paceman, To The Max<br>2:35 – Norisan (?!)<br>3:10 – Love On Sight, Scarlet Runner<br>3:45 – Just James, King’s Caprice (???)<br>4:20 – Electrocutionist, Maraahel<br>4:55 – Blue Java, Royal Dignitary
Good Luck!
2:00
July 29, 2006 at 13:50 #74307D’oh for me too now! Cheers Mr. Hughes!

Hope you lumped on dave, pity those amateurs at the RP had to copy your selection .. your judgement is masterful.
July 29, 2006 at 17:09 #74309I did have a bet on Dabbers Ridge yes though it was a mad rush to get it on.
Sadly my "banker" for the placepot disappointed me and that was that. At least Be The Tops won – Hannon always seems to win with his so called second string.
July 29, 2006 at 20:26 #74310I haven’t done a placepot since William Hills switched to those pathetic lottery style betting slips, but I did my first ever placepot online today, and I thought I was bloody unlucky. <br>I banked on Hurricane run, doubled up in the first leg with Dijeer and To The Max, and doubled up again in the 4th leg with Dabbers Ridge and Marching Song.<br>In the second leg I had the 10/1 winner Satulagi, and in the last I had the joint fav Roman Maze.
The only leg I failed on was the third leg, and my two horses finished 4th and 5th.
Unfortunately that is what often happens with the placepot, and you only need one leg to go wrong to do your money. But I thought I did most of the hard work.
